I wish I could have gone on that. But when I was younger I wasnt too keen on coasters. I love 'em now.

The park wanted rid of the travelling rides that couldn't be run in the rain, including Magnum Force. It was expensive to maintain on account of the ride's intensity too. They removed it to make room for Kumali as part of the long term plan to renovate the park.

Hi Steve, at 1:19 was that an Intamin Flight Trainer in the distance? If that's the case then Flamingo Land had a lot of interesting and rare rides back then. What year exactly was this video taken because most Intamin Flight Trainers in North America were gone by the early 2000's or earlier. I don't think there are any left at all. I never got to ride one (because they were all gone by the time I started riding rides!) or a Schwarzkopf coaster either because there are none in my area especially in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) Ontario, Canada. Schwarzkopf's are a dying breed of coasters especially since they went defunct in the late 90's or early 2000's. Nice video. :-)

Flamingo Land had some fantastic rides, plenty of spin and spews and some great coasters as you can see in my Flamingo Land The Lost Coasters video and that is only a few of them. Nowadays it's only a shadow of it's former self, so much so that during my East Coaster Tour this year, although only being a few miles from it I had no inclination to visit whereas before It would be a must !! As for what year was this filmed, I'm not really sure, I can see myself standing next to Andy Hine as he shouts Scream if you wanna go Turbo but not sure of the year, probably about 200, Anton might see the comment and tell us exactly, we will have to wait and see :-)

It's sort of sad to hear what Flamingo Land has turned into nowadays. Looking at your videos from the past, Flamingo Land appeared to be a thrilling theme park with intense attractions. Now looking at it's roller coaster line up on RCDB.com it appears that they've turned into a family park with a few intense coasters but other than that they have lost some really great coasters and thrill rides. Thanks for the information. :-)
Ps I didn't know you were from the year 200, they had some really great technology back then if that's the case. ;-)

***** Here's an update Steve about whether or not that ride at 1:19 is an Intamin Flight Trainer. I did some research about Flamingo Land and discovered this picture (www.themeparkreview.com/eco/flamingoland/flamingo2.jpg) and discovered they did have an Intamin Flight Trainer by the name of "Top Gun". Interesting on what you can find out about amusement parks researching the on the web. ;-)
