One Must Fall 2097

One Must Fall 2097 was developed by Diversions Entertainment and published by Epic MegaGames, Inc (now Epic Games, inc). for DOS in 1994. It's a side view mecha- fighting game.
In the game the human race is being controlled by a company called W.A.R. It started off as an industrial company that made construction robots but eventually it aquired control over earth by force - assumingly by making weaponized robots.
In 2097 W.A.R is colonizing planets and moons & due to the harsh nature of these planets they need to find the thoughest fighter to rule the planets for them. In order to find out who that is they organize a tournament where the winner earns control over said planet(s).
Your role in the game is to be one of the contestants.
It is currently considered abandonware.
