- “A-Train, baby!”; “Can’t stop the A-Train!”; “Everybody loves the A-Train!” Okay, we might have made that last one up, but we can’t deny that Jessie T. Usher’s character on Amazon’s The Boys has some frighteningly corny catchphrases; and yet he somehow makes them work. A-Train is one of the newest members of The Seven at the beginning of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s superhero commentary series; but by its end, no one remembers him and with good reason. A-Train is one of the most despicable Supes under Vought’s employment and so pathetically insecure that even his teammates dislike him. Everything he does is for money and fame, and while it seems like his Amazon counterpart is the same at first glance, you’ll see just how much better Jessie Usher’s character is. The one thing that is the same in both the comics and the TV series is that A-Train is the catalyst that puts everything into motion. But who exactly is A-Train? What motivates him to become a superhero? Is he all talk, or does he have a heart hidden underneath all that bravado? And is he even alive after what happened in the Herogasm episode? Homelander is not a "white supremacist" supe. Made it really clear on his last conversation with Stormfront, when he shunned all her "arian supremacy" BS. He simply has a god complex. Precisely for him not sharing her nazy mentality is why she suicided.

I love A-Train's character on the Boys, and I'm glad you're appreciating the actor by name. A lot of the actors on that show are over shadowed by Anthony Starr but I truly believe it's an All Star cast, and Jessie T Usher is no exception. I love A-Train and I truly hope to see him redeem himself further

I would say that A-Train is a "mixture" between quick silver and zoom from the flash tv series, I say that, because his powers are more like that of quick silver, but he uses a drug that can increase his speed like zoom from the cw series "the flash"

You do a great job with your script m8, but you need to cut your scenes tighter. They constantly switch for like 0.5 seconds between transitions, making the video choppy and uncomfortable. This video is full of them if you take a look yourself, I’m sure you’ll see what I’m referring too. Good luck and keep up the good work

Politics aside that Hollywood cannot help themselves but to add. Do you all really think because A Train makes 1 or 2 right decisions he's forgiven? The character is a POS and his death scene if he gets one will be deserved.
The way the show treats A-Train and Black Noir is very much based on how people have reacted to the idea of black superheroes in real life. There’s a reason why Luke Cage was a big deal when he debuted in the comics, and why people reacted the way they did to Miles Morales. Is every show that reflects aspects of real life all of a sudden political? Or do you think every show that depicts aspects of racism is political? I think the fact that A-Train is a massive piece of shit who has finally seen some level of comeuppance in a system that basically views him as fodder and enables his worst character traits makes for a pretty good story. In the comics, pretty much everyone was white. I think scenes like the Supersonic taco bowl scene and the A-Train B story actually make the show a lot better.
If anything, The Boys has strayed closer to South Park in terms of “politics” since they call out everyone. Or are you conveniently ignoring stuff like the Imagine cover? Or the fact that until he was hurting for more starpower and his actual brother got paralyzed, A-Train didn’treally give a single fuck about Gunpowder or the political stuff. It was all a publicity stunt for him until it got real. Him killing Gunpowder wasn’t justice or him fighting for the black community, it was simply petty revenge.

I don't think any of what he did is exactly a redemption.
He only did it for his own goals. true, the effect might have been 'good', like when he helped Hughie and Starlight with Stormfront's nazi info, but that's still just because he wants her out.
even at season 3, we see him get overly egoistic about his A-train brand, like advertising his "black history" with his suit, wanting a game and some advertisement of his black history. again, just for him.
and then we even see him berate Homelander, ever so quietly.
even with him "making it up" for his brother was still about him bringing his brother to his training.
