How could you not be? I was not a fan of Chovy for the longest time but even I think he is currently the best player in the world. All I hope is that he keeps up that performance for the remainder of the year because without showing this level of play in MSI and Worlds it isn't all that meaningful. I'm still not rooting for Gen G but I want to see a strong Chovy. I'm also hoping Keria can return from his current good form to being the best support in the entire world again.

Not necessarily. If geng lost game 1 then they would have been blue side and t1 red side game 2 and that would change the draft and the game completely.

Dude this is one of the only series I've bothered to catch live and holy shit I'm glad I did. Some of the least troll play from both teams ever (aside from game 1) and game 5 was so fucking intense. The chovy package was INSANE, and the Peyz popoff at the very end was great given his performance in the series. I can honestly see why Kiin got MVP, he played really well, dumpstered Zeus or went even and often made huge impact in fights.
Gen.G proved that IWDominate's expectation was wrong at 4,5 set. He doesn't know lol

i feel like dom never gives credit to the choke factor of chovy he is an amazing player arguably the best but in big moments at international he disappears and a big reason gen g wins series like this is him not just playing okay but out of his mind. IMO if you choke as many times as chovy had its not bias or wrong to include something like that in a ranking or favorite for msi
Kiin played great, Chovy played great, Canyon was good, but man I am not sure this bot lane can get it done at MSI. Peyz seems to be regressing and Lehends has never shown up internationally. BLG will eat them alive, and I have far more trust in the TES and T1 duos. Even if Chovy continues to be this insane, it's gonna be another international disappointment if Peyz and Lehends don't level up.

I think he is indeed playing the best League ever.
However the distance between him and others is not as big as it was between Faker and everyone else in S3-S5.
The overall skill level in seasons 3 to 5 was much lower compared to the present time. Koreans were the pioneers and innovators of every aspect of the game. Faker happened to be the best among them. Nowadays, information is shared between all regions which has resulted in a significant improvement in the overall skill level of players. The competition is much harder now. In season 3, it was a big deal when Faker dodged a skillshot, but it has become a baseline qualification for pro players today. Nobody is gonna go crazy if player pull out ahri one shot combo but it was considered some of faker's best play back in s3 with the deathfire.

I agree that chovy is currently the best player in the world but I disagree that this is the best league anyone has ever played. I can’t remember which season but faker carrying T1’s lifeless corpse was insane to see. Same year when reworked galio was op. If I remember right they lost at worlds because enemy team banned 5 of his champs and they baited his leblanc pick so they can neutralize him with malzahar. Imo that was the best league anyone has ever played so far. He was literally a one man team
2017 Worlds, semis against RNG where Faker played only Galio I believe, and got cucked by Crown malz in the finals. Faker was complete 1v9 then, maybe the best league at the time by some margin, but Chovy right now is getting more cs per minute and dealing more damage per minute than what has ever been recorded before in league history.
I think he's just saying right now not relative to era because people have improved so much since 2017 when faker did that where current faker is way better than faker back then, I think dom would say season 3 faker is the best ever if we are taking into account the gap between the first best and second best

there is more to league than kills mate, a 4 kill game like this one still has a ton of macro decisions that kept it exciting. Like Dom said they weren't just afk laning not doing anything.

It's kinda funny that most T1 fans didn't even expect to go 2-3 against Gen.G. Also, T1 already lost multiple finals both domestically and internationally before - so this one additional loss isn't even damaging. In fact, they overperformed, so they are happy that they can be optimistic about T1's performance at this MSI.
