The original version of this song by Sir Kumar Basnet was first released in an audio cassette in early 1980's. I think between 1981 - 1983 . In that era I was around 7 years old. Nepal was under Panchayat government with direct rule by King Birendra. Nepal Police wore khaki uniform similar to that of India at that time. There was good and well maintained trolley bus in Kathmandu and Sajha bus with all the Japanese fleet model like Isuzu, Mitsubishi. Other city buses were of Mercedes model running between Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. There was Toyota Corolla taxi running on Kathmandu roads. Kathmandu was so clean no pollution at all. Roads were crystal clear. The only shopping Mall at that time was Bishal Bazar near New Road. At that time even the school like Siddhartha Vanasthali had a Mercedes long bus with pressure automatic door. Nepal Airlines at that time was named RNAC Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation and the army ( Royal Nepal Army )
My neighbor is from Nepal! He walks with his two happy and beautiful , cream colored Lab dogs! I had a dream long ago about being in Nepal standing with family on top of a temple! Nepal with Mt.Everest with the prayer flags swaying with the wind must be majestic and overwhelming to one's spirit! The people and their culture with their colorful clothes and music is amazing! I just met my neighbor today! I listened to many songs from Nepal in the midnight hours! I like this piece of music the best! I like the relaxing and pure sounds that wake the senses to a different world with breathtaking 5:03 nature!
