Got to tell you, Sammy... Your lyric writing seemed to level-up when you got in Van Halen. Who wrote about real s***, that we could all understand and relate to. And your lyrics covered the whole spectrum. The other guy had already hit the glass ceiling, in content and emotional depth. You broke through and elevated. Luv ya!!!

I have always loved Van Halen and enjoyed the party feel and energy of DLR contribution but Sammy really brought. consciousness and spirit to their direction and music. I remember the split of fans when I was in school saying “ its not the same!” and i was defending it telling my fellow fans that it WAS different and it wasn’t a bad thing, just different. A side note that where eagles fly was played repeat on my radio for a good hour when I got out of the Navy after Desert Storm and 14 years later when I got out of the Marines I did the same thing. Thank you for helping me through hard times with soulful music Sammy!

This song inspires people who like to play the Piano, to try to play it by ear, no matter you never took a Piano lesson in your whole life. I heard R.i.P. Eddie Van Halen and His Brother Alex, both had a solid background in music by learning Piano, and that Eddie liked to have good ears. Is still hard to type R.i.P. Ar least those F.M. Radio transmitters work with the cellphone on the car, and we can hear even the live version you both played at a Charity Concert, where you said it was played as it was originally made, with just Eddie playing the Piano while you sing.

Awesome song indeed. As far as aliens go, look up at the stars on a clear night. Notice how vast the galaxy is, and that’s only what we can actually see. Are we so arrogant to think that, “yep, amongst ALL THAT, we are the ONLY PLANET ANYWHERE that has any life whatsoever living on it.” I think not.
