- I know this would not really work with how the rest of the movie is setup, but going into the theater to see 10 Cloverfield Lane for the first time, I hoped there would be a solid connection to the original Cloverfield. I still love the movie and think real ending works. This was just done as a fun project by a fan, for fans.
i like this! i desperately want a proper direct sequel to the first CLOVERFIELD film.

Cloverfield Paradox went back to the first, and they revealed the baby Cloverfield Monster GROWN UP. It was as big as a small skyscraper in NY, now its as tall at Mount Fuji or Mount Everest as it came out the high clouds

the 10 cloverfield lane showed up and was like "BOOM! HAVE SOME ALIENS!"
and then paradox came to the party uninvited and was like "do some science-y stuff and also, apparently there's alternate dimensions!!!"
and the whole thing just fell apart, i don't give a koopas ass what people say about the first one, to me it captured found footage really fucking well, and the monster was awesome as FUCK
@@breadgineer9166 the first film was such a unique take on the Giant Monster Genre, instead of the normal "Big Badass Monster destroys stuff, fights other monsters, after the final battle, VICTORY ROAR!!", It's a full on horror survival story based on looking through the eyes of the civilians that have to put up with these monster attacks, incredible.

G4rc1a_ So it's fan made that uses scenes from the movie. If that's the case, then it's an edit. Fan made is when someone makes their own version of something without actually using anything from the original so it would be called an edit. I didn't actually see the beast at first because it was too dark so I just assumed nothing happened.

Here's an idea for a better ending than what J.J. gave us.
Drop the whole aliens shit.
Throughout the movie have subtle hints of events related to the clover incident being mentioned or seen on documents.
Have her escape the bunker, and have her encounter one of the parasites, than after she kills it, she takes off in the car and in the distance clover roars, along with fire and smoke on the horizon, realizing that Goodman's character was right all along in keeping her underground.

The original script had a similar ending, except without aliens. Goodman's character believed that a nuclear attack had taken place instead, and at the end of film when she escaped, Lily drives back to Chicago, only to find war had broken out, and the city was destroyed.

Well done. But I have to say the original ending still does work for me, considering that in Paradox it was stated that 'The experiment could unleash chaos... monsters, demons, beasts..." So the beasts/aliens could take on any form, and could still be tied with the first Cloverfield movie.
This movie takes place like 9 years after the first cloverfield movie and having the same monster from the first movie would've been too predictable. Also the Cloverfield references in God Particle/Cloverfield Paradox were an after thought and don't really fit into the timelines... well couldn't we just ignore that movie?

Logan Lewis yah, it does need to be about Clover. You don't spend almost a decade orchestrating a viral marketing with some clues even literally buried about a company that woke up a monster and then not make the sequels about the monster. They just picked up two random stories and changed them to fit with the cloververse. I liked 10CL, it's one of those flicks you can watch over and over again but Paradox was shit and I hope they just go on with the monster because that's what the clues were about.

Chüd I have to 100% agree with you on this,,clover is what made the movie interesting.Dont get me wrong 10 Cloverfield lane is good,along with the paradox that just released with it,,but it just doesnt exactly add up with clover itself.if they did the movies with clover they would have been a lot better,,especially with the fact that clover is only a baby in the first one,leaving everyone with the last scary thought of how tall the adult is and what it looks like.

I like to think that every work of fiction has its own reality, and the initial creator of said fiction had metalogical elements of them seep into the creator's imagination. In other words, nothing is imagined, simply seen into.

I love how you can see the enormus front legs of the Cloverfield monster after the lightning flashes at 0:27. I honestly think just revealing the creature's legs, and the music being accompanied by the stomping of the momster and some loud az roars would have been scarier, but this isn't about fear. Oh wait it is------

I wish they would've kept everything vague up until this final shot, that would've been amazing. That video-game-esque boss battle scene felt so out of place and forced. Don't get me started on Paradox 🙄. At this pace, the next Cloverfield movie will go straight to the Sci-Fi channel, and it'll be called Cloverfield: CloverNado
Jack0834. Paradox had the most blatant exposition within the first 15min which spoiled the entire plot. I cannot think of another movie that even comes close to that level of exposition, certainly not in the very beginning of the movie. It shows the writers lack of creativity, and their lack of respect for fans of the series.
"Our fans are complete morons, let's reveal what's going to happen in the beginning of the movie. We'll have an Author give an interview where he predicts exactly what'll happen, literally minutes before it happens."
Jack0834. But they did buy an existing script and slap the Cloverfield name on it. Then they added that lazy ass exposition in the beginning, and that lazy cliche ending with a monster that'd have to be around 20,000ft tall.
They should've built a true sequel from the ground up. Paradox was a disaster. 4 out of 10
Jack0834. My point is, I don't think they gave any thought into how big the monster would have to be in order for it to be standing in the Atlantic ocean and still rise above the cloud line. They just thought it'd look cool. A 20k-25k ft tall monster is not compelling, there's a reason why no other movie monster has been even half as big.
I don't think much thought is being put into this series at all. They're obviously making it up on the fly. The "separate dimensions" was used because it's a lazy way to loosely tie everything together. Now they can buy any existing script, throw a monster into to it, and call it a Cloverfield sequel. How convenient 🤔

If this actually happened in the film, the monster would have appeared a few moments after the alien spaceship was defeated, that was close to both meeting each other, on the other hand, the larger alien spaceship, in the actual film, or whatever that was, it was pretty spooky.
This works really well actually. Almost like the clover creature is a tank unit or uber unit, sent out by the ETs to destroy a large populus

That would be cool, if there was another found footage sequal about cloverfield, because I'm really into found footage movies. And it would be really interesting, just like the first movie came out in 2008. But, "10 cloverfield lane" doesn't have much monsters in this film and also "cloverfield paradox". I wanted to see monsters in the entire movie, just like the first movie.

I find it funny that they came up with the whole, "Every movie is an alternate universe" thing to explain why they all feel so disconnected but the truth is, it's just that none of the other two movies in the series were actually meant to be Cloverfield movies. They just took random movies and tacked on some random lore that made them feel vaguely connected to the original and did a multiverse explanation to cover uo the fact that this franchise had no direction whatsoever

Honestly what I had wanted was this but with the ships attacking clover... But it wouldn't make sense why the ship was after her if there was a bigger threat...I guess it could've still worked it looked like the ship was flying in that direction and then the explosion got its attention

That looks like a juvenile one. Bigger than the one in the first movie. Much smaller than the paradox one.
And honestly if you look at the alternate ending for 10 Cloverfield Lane it shows that humongous monster in the back set of the thunderstorm
First Cloverfield Movie was one of the Most Unexpected Movies that I found really Great, The Second One Actually Surprised me of how Good of a Thriller it was, Then the 3rd Movie, My Mind was Blown by how "THEY CONNECTED ON HOW THE MULTIVERSE WORKS" it's just one of the most Unique Film Trilogies of all Time, By making their own Stories as Stand-Alones.
I see the Reason on why People are criticizing the 2 other Installments, I think it was just because they're way too stupid enough to Understand Dimensions of Lovecraftian Invasions, Heck, I even find this 2nd Movie to be Much more Superior than the 1st One, The 3rd one I find Underrated, The 1st One is commonly loved because we actually can see the Monster, But I'm aware that most people who watched this Movie, didn't see all of the Easter Eggs that were all over the Movie, These Movies all Make Connections.
DON'T FUCKING COMPLAIN IF YOU ONLY WANTED TO SEE THE CLOVER MONSTER IN THOSE 2 MOVIES.
