Thank you, I have being dealing with this situation for years with all different matches.

THANK YOU for this. It's been bugging me for a while now and I love your empirical testing.

Thank you for the detailed analysis. I have been seeing a number of these false negative triangulations on MyHeritage and they have been confusing me. I have been looking for complicated paths to explain them and have wasted a lot of time and effort.

Thank you very much for the explanation! I tested with Ancestry and Myheritage. I uploaded my raw data from Ancestry to Myheritage and I notice the difference when you test with them and when you upload. I have more false matches with the uploaded data and I know understand it can be due to this imputation.

Wouldn't a solution to this confusion be for MyHeritage to just show on their chromosome browser where imputation has been used so that it shows where two segments don't match. It either needs to do the triangulation using the imputation SNPs or it should just compare common tested SNPs and show the matching and triangulation using them, ignoring and intermediate SNPs that haven't been treated on any of the tests in the triangulation as this data isn't available. I don't see any problem with either of these solutions, but it should show the sources for the tests when doing this and make it clear this is happening here. After all if all 3 are Ancestry imported tests they'd all match and triangulate. The fact one isn't shouldn't make any difference as long as the start, end, and all tested SNPs in between match.

This is so confusing to me. I have matches I should triangulate with and don't, including my 1rst cousin! I feel like I have tons of NPE's as it is.
