    Keren bro

    As already mentioned before, the output electrolytic filter capacitor and rectifier MUST BE CHANGED for such higher voltage MOD.
    Also other problems may arise depending on the circuit topology and implementation.
    Personally I would not MOD a 5V P.S. for more than 9V.

      Yes, I was expecting it to pop when it went above 12V. This video also lacks explanation. Do you happen to know why zener diode and why this stabilizer was was soldered the way it was (I mean pinout relative to potentiometer + resistor).

    I cheated I use a translator but I want to thank you for translating this into English it’s most helpful when you can understand something in your native tongue and duplicate it with instructions.
    Again thank you again for this great idea it will prove to be very useful on quite a few projects that I have that need to be controlling the voltage output.

  • @AIexanderHartdegen
    @AIexanderHartdegen Před 2 lety +2

    I need to say that is a nice idea (I made it to adjust some rare transformer to different operatus). But you need to know that the good way to process is that it's dangerous to reach twice or more the initial value. Voltage regulating here comes from a PWM wich change duty signal to provide highter voltage. First HV circuit is not made to work in that range of tight pulse. This is the reason why you must use this tip to have voltage as less as you want, but for reliability and safeness, don't reach more than twice the value... This primary circuit is not design to regulate until this point.

    The output capacitor value should not be less than the output voltage, otherwise, it will explode. You need to carefully check other components effect when you change the voltage. It may be useful in some cases, but it needs knowledge and understanding of components, current, voltage and ohm law.

      It's not because of the TL431, it only gives a reference.
      In any system if you raise the voltage the max current will be lower, but if you know the maths then you know that 5V 2A gives the same power as 10V 1A.

      Even if this charger uses a Shottky diode, the thermal power at 6A x 0,4V would be high enough to melt the solder off the PCB ((( or burn the diode down, because there is no heatsink. Also I doubt the transformer wiring would accept such a high current.

It was mostly just various kinds of food packing materials, just like the stuff I buy at the grocery store comes in. There was some spoiled leftovers too, but it didn't seem like the value they bring my power supply project warranted digging them out. Full disclosure, I don't have the trashcan's manual, and can't verify if I'm actually having a technical problem, or if it's just user error, but I feel like I'm using it right. My guess is it's just broken

    Nice! Am now your new subscriber. However, the new circuit cannot be used for laptops. Laptops require 19.5 volts 2 amperes, right? If you were to use it it would definitely burn the parts of your adjustable power supply such as: rectifiers, switching transformer, diode in the secondary, & so on, because they're too small. Not to mention you have to change the electrolytics to bigger ones also. This circuit is good only for fast charging celphones & small stuffs.
    Nevertheless, the idea is great!
