    Langs het tuinpad van mn vader… Ik kom uit de buurt; vroeger fietsten we de boerenbuurt door naar Montfoort. Nu is het nog even wachten en het is de zoveelste Utrechtse vinexwijk. Ik heb het dorpsmeisje in mij na het overlijden van mijn moeder verhuist naar een plek die zeker tot mijn dood nog dorp zal zijn maar ik mis mn roots wel hoor.

    Hi Robin, great video, thanks very much for sharing! But, where is the castle? ....!! You built up our expectations and then let us down (just kidding.. 🙂). A shame that there is almost nothing left, who knows maybe some day there will be some reconstruction effort, although I know this would be awfully expensive. One of the things I loved in the Netherlands is how well old buildings and towns have been preserved, but I guess when damaged by war, preservation may be impossible. Great story and insight on the De Valk windmill too, I really hope the crowdfunding campaign goes well. All the best!

      @robindiscovering  Před rokem +2

      Thanks a lot Manos! I hope that the crowdfunding campaign for the windmill will be a succes so the millers can grain their grain the way it was meant to be once again. If you would change one thing in the video (for a next project) what would it be?

      @@robindiscovering Hi Robin! that's a tough question, I don't really have any experience in video production I'm afraid 🙂. And as a viewer, I really liked that last one - but I also liked your previous videos. Yes the interview and the personal story made it more interesting, and the location maps and the historical details were very interesting to me anyway,. But I cannot think of something negative. I think if you keep creating more, you will inevitably keep improving, even without realising it. Also there must be something you can do to have more people watching your videos, and get more subscribers, but I have no idea what, I don't know that part of CZcams marketing and promoting etc. Anyway I hope you continue the great work and publish more, all the best!

      The castle-lords were allways battling one another. Nothing else to do. The people did do all the work and the ladies were in-waiting, delivering or embroidering. Nothing changed much, except for the embroidering.

    You should bike! Much more to see! I live close by. Many old (around 1000years) villages and small towns there and farmland. Close by the river Rhine, the old smaller Rhine, the 'Hollandse IJssel'......and many many small waterways with all different names and purposes. Many of them dug by poor workmen. As everything is closeby a tourist can easily bike from one place to another.
