Some production stuff needs a module open which can't happen in the ground which is why the station wasn't allowing you to craft the storage.
Mines have a couple of loot crates plus lots of materials and everything respawns after an eruption so a good option is to do what you did and dive into one just before, mine it out and then mine again after the mountain goes pop.
Cog tanks are loot pinatas carrying boxes plus the corpse loot from each broken bit. If you break the tracks then they stop moving but will shoot. Only break the turret, it'll will try to run you over. But if you cripple one by taking out both and leave it alive the parent ship thinks its fine and won't spawn a replacement.
So Grill, a small update they did a long while back but after you stopped I believe. You can upload a custom logo onto your drillships now. So you can put your little YT icon onto the back and such. I dont remember how to do it off hand, but its something rather simple. And a quick google will tell ye how Im sure. But yeah keep this coming as its a fun little game.
At the end I was thinking..... why is the game telling you to hide from the eruption? You're already underground. Keep on drillin', Grill.

I like this game. The sounds of the various alarms are rather intense, but I like that. It adds to the dangerous atmosphere. Lol. It seems like you’ve gotten a lot of progress done already, too. 😊
In order to destroy the drill ships, you need to destroy the top and the side modules the door frame too and then I will cause the drill ship to self-destruct

Look like storage module is better than storage chest. Module is reachable all over.
If you build to shotgun turrets at the front door you should be fine with leaving the door open😂

no reason to send underground. it takes so long to come back up your gona risk getting caught in a explosion eventualy. better to just setup your drill ship and let it defend itself.
also for the quests it ask you to get the ore as you ahve none in storage as you keep just processing it all all time.
now you see WHY it told you to make 15 grenades as they do vastly more damge then pickaxe allowing yo uto go thru mutiple ships in 1 erruption
