Congratulations on completing those big projects. That house looked good when you found it, but you and Tommy have certainly given it a much needed polish to turn it into a vintage masterpiece. As I've said before, the whole neighborhood is elevated when people like ya'll invest so much time and effort into preserving those 'one of a kind' historical homes. I've enjoyed watching the changes unfold and have learned a lot from you. Every video has been inspiring and exuding of your charm and great taste.
Sydney I cannot believe the front garden is so full. Everything has filled in and grown so beautifully. Roof look great. Nice color. I know you are happy finally having the rest of your to do list almost completed. Looks amazing. Thanks for the video.
Lots of infrastructure improvements - the roof looks wonderful in keeping with the original architecture and style of your beautiful home. Also, it's the little changes that make a big impact such as the trash can area. You and Tommy have been so busy with the home - I hope you had a relaxing vacation. 👍♥
The new roof looks beautiful and I can only imagine how hard a job it was for those roofer's. I don't know how those guys work in that heat up there. The front yard looks great despite the few casualties, but I know how those boxwoods really bother you. You've done so much to preserve and upgrade the home and I'm always amazed at how much you and Tommy get done. You both can pat yourselves on the back for projects well done.
Hooray! I voted for the dark blend of browns for your roof. I applaud your decision to forgo the busier shingle upgrade because you absolutely do want your home to present as a unified whole. Your roof has plenty of interest in the pitch and gables so more attention was not needed. Hopefully you and neighbors together have successfully eradicated the endlessly annoying issue of the Virginia Creeper and Wisteria growing between the two fences! I am always battling this same problem on two sides and I am always the loser 😢 Kudos to you and Tommy for all the historic preservation and beautiful upgrades you have achieved in house and garden in such a short time. ❤
Syndey, Everything looks wonderful! You'll have done several huge projects in little over one year moving there. Everything you've done has increased your home value which is wonderful.
Sydney, you and Tommy have done an awesome job making this house your home, inside and out. I know it is so tiring, expensive, time-consuming, etc., but it is so worth it. My husband would get a little fraustrated with me because i wasn't all that excited to go on vacation because i loved my home so much and didn't want to leave it. It was difficult to find places to stay that were nicer than my home. That's not bragging it's just loving where you are so much. 😊
Your garden looks beautiful every year. You’ve done a great job of making it look good on every surface of your house and garden . May you and your husband have an amazing time together in your home.
Love the light foliage and grays in the front yard. They make such an impact. Really soften the bed lines I, too, totally stress when things are getting done at the house. Digging up the front yard for underground retrenching had me out of my mind!!! And I stress when anyone has to get up in the tall trees to prune.. I just have to look away. The roof looks great, the yards are looking good too. My favorite is the front. I think its because its my dream house! Jut love those rook lines and brick homes have my heart!
Your care and attention to detail on your majestic, historic home is admirable! The roof looks great and I can't wait to see how your trash can closet turns out, (they are such eyesores,I agree)! It will be nice to get an idea for how to hide my own. Of course, the front and back yards look wonderful!!!
Roof looks great! Definitely relate to how tough it is enduring all that goes with roof-replacement. God bless the type of men who work like that in such heat, great respect🙌🏼. Thanks for another update; fun to see all the progress!
The front yard looks amazing. Everything is so full and in perfect balance. Also like the new roof color you chose. It has a wonderful harmony with the whole house.
I can so relate to the damage from having the roof and gutters replaced. We had a horrendous hail storm last year and had our entire roof replaced, gutters and siding repairs, gazebo replaced etc. They did a marvelous job of protecting my gardens but there was some minor damage. Just so glad to have all that disruption finished and over and all the repairs done, now the gardens can recover and look beautiful once again.... Your home and gardens are wonderful and amazing, so beautiful!
Everything looks so amazing. I can't believe everything you have done in less than 2 years. It is just amazing. What do you and Tommy do for a living? I don't think I've heard you mention that before. You both work so good together and it's a lot of work. What is the next area you want to tackle? Whatever it is we are here to watch.
I also understand about how getting stressed out when you have things done around your home. We are having our house trim work pressure wash tomorrow and I’m thinking oh dear we have to move all the veranda furniture, etc. so I can so relate. Thank you for sharing your yard …looks beautiful and sending you hugs, love prayers and kindness with the daily dose of encouragement With positive thoughts.♥️🙏🏻
I certainly can sympathize with the roof replacement and concerns about flower beds ! We lost our roof part of our house and had all of that rebuilt plus new windows and completely repainted after the tornadoe in April 2023 . Like you an extremely steep 2 story roof but our roofers were amazing they took such care in the hellish heat of last summer . The damage was so minor i really couldnt tell you where it was this year the beds are in full bloom and breathtaking .
I love that while you’re filming you take the time to pause on that hummingbird ❤. You’ve accomplished so much in such a short time. Very clever improvements too. I think those boxwoods look cute without the ‘haircut’- living in the wild side😂
Hi Sydney and Tommy So pleased for you. The front garden is looking gorgeous. Massive job...a new roof and gutters. You've renewed so much. Keep up that lovely smile of yours🍰🍰☕☕💯💗
Great new additions to your house! It looked good before, but it really looks good now! Your design is really taking shape. Thank you for sharing! It has given me some new ideas to try in my own yard!☺️
Lots of great upgrades! are you sure the lambs ears are dead? I have some in pots that I thought died but I left them alone and sure enough they grew back. But yeah, my HVS are being quite dramatic this year. I’m constantly grooming the dead leaves!
It looks great ,I understand the stress but ,I also understand damage happens, and move on .I can’t imagine climbing on that roof,no matter how professional someone is. Thanks for the update 🍃🌿
Everything looks so clean and fresh. I am with you stressing about anytime work is getting done on the property like the roof and gutters. I’m outside watching over my plants like hawk. Not fun but the end result is always worth it.
The house looks amazing! Little by little I’m starting to see your vision. Do you dare leave that boxwood there to possibly get damaged again? Also, you could add a gate to the driveway side of the trash can area to really conceal the trash cans. 🤷♀️
I’m LOVING those “blue” accents too! I have some blue but I need MORE! Thanks for the visual ❤ And as for lambs ear, I’m right below you in TexAss and my Lambs Ear is struggling for the first time ever also.
I live in Michigan zone 6a and have removed all my Lamb's Ear plants this year. I also, have never had a problem with that plant, so must be some crazy weather issues,
My lambs ear has been horrible for years now and I finally moved all of it out of the sun here in Texas. It’s just too hot even if it was a half a day of sun. It’s just too much so everything lams has been moved to the shade here and it’s doing fantastic, just some info for you
Sydney I think we got the same storm as you here in SW MO and are in process of replacing our roof. My shingles I have now are discontinued and look close to yours. Would you mind sharing the manufacturer and name of the shingles? I would be really appreciative. Everything looks so great.
I am getting a new roof with the highly resistant heat shingles in a lighter brown which ranks better from a white roof. They will work from 6 am. to 1 p.m. to avoid the heat. I have to say I much preferred the back yard as it was before, especially in the back, mainly because it was much more private then and you didn't see the other houses around you so much. Now it feels and looks crowded.
Wow that house has needed a lot in the past 2 years. It was portrayed as being well kept. I’m glad you’re doing the work and putting a lot of money into it.
Yes well spoken I was just thinking the same. Bless their hearts they basically purchased a money pit but thankfully they have the finances to do all these much needed fixes to this house. Sydney is very gracious young lady how she speaks to it.
I love your channel, both houses are great! I’m just curious if you’d know how much work current home needed would you have still got it? I mean no disrespect, it looks fantastic and you’re great homeowners! 😊
Love all your hard work. Could you do a video on how to use your drip system? I would like to know how long to wander and how often you use the system. Thank you
It was actually in between the fences (we both have the pretty sides of the fence) that allowed it an isolated place to grow that we couldn't get to. We both wanted the vine gone as neither of us planted it. It should be taken care of now!
Spending money on the exterior of your home is a hard decision, because you don’t see it 🫣. But it is necessary and a big advantage for resale value. PS…..Well, I hope no Secret Service agents ever have to stand post on that STEEP roof 🤣😂😅

Thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching the channel!! ☺
The backyard looks gorgeous as well as the front yard. What you have done is simply amazing.
103 degrees! Your care and attention under such conditions are applauded. It’s a remarkable garden.
Sydney I cannot believe the front garden is so full. Everything has filled in and grown so beautifully. Roof look great. Nice color. I know you are happy finally having the rest of your to do list almost completed.
Looks amazing.

This home has beautiful features and it’s a good idea to preserve them. I know you will make it as nice as you have done the front yard. 🥰🥰🥰
Most beautiful views💛💛👍👍
The hummingbird was precious!!!

Love your flag, Sydney! Wow!!! The flower bed shapes and plant combinations are STUNNING and have revived the house!!!
It’s all looking so very good ❤❤
The new fence looks SO good.
Your roof looks really nice. Those projects are a big deal.
Y’all are really coming along, everything is looking great!!! Can’t wait to see what is next! ❤

You have done so much since moving in. Everything shows so well! Beautiful
SYDNEY AND HUSBAND, YOU ARE DOING A WONDERFUL JOB WITH THE RENOVATION OF YOUR HOUSE, IS LOOKING LIKE A NEW ONE, VERY PRETTY.
Everything looks so amazing. I can't believe everything you have done in less than 2 years. It is just amazing. What do you and Tommy do for a living? Some cosmetic upgrades need to be made on the inside when it gets too cold to be outside! 😉

Hi Sydney, what are the fabulous silvery fluffy looking low growing silvery trailing plants in your front garden, they’re beautiful.
It looks great ,I understand the stress but ,I also understand damage happens, and move on .I can’t imagine climbing on that roof,no matter how professional someone is. Thanks for the update 🍃🌿
Wow, you got so much done. Everything is coming along nicely. 👍🏽
Everything looks so clean and fresh. I am with you stressing about anytime work is getting done on the property like the roof and gutters. I’m outside watching over my plants like hawk. Not fun but the end result is always worth it.
Looks great Sydney. I'm DONE with the heat!🥵
Your roof and fence look wonderful!❤
I love all you have done your style is impressive . I love your improvements in the landscape 😊you haven’t done anything I don’t like. Vicki Mooney

Your place is so pretty! My favorite
The new roof looks great!
It looks amazing!!! Changing the roof is traumatizing to a gardener, so I think you made out pretty good!! You guys are staying busy!
Very much so 😵💫
Fantastic! No more Virginia Creeper! Fence, front yard and roof look so good.
🤞🏻
Looks beautiful!
All looks beautiful...❤
Wow, I can't believe so many repairs were needed. Great job Sydney & your husband.😊
I live in Michigan zone 6a and have removed all my Lamb's Ear plants this year. I also, have never had a problem with that plant, so must be some crazy weather issues,

Loking v. good. Love from Australia.

Looks great. Question: if you are gone several days, would you need someone to check on the bees, add sugar water to the top, etc.?
Beautiful
Lovely
❤❤my dream 😢🌼🌺🌿
Can you leave the cushions out all year long? They seem to hold up good From SC
You have truly brought this tired old house back to life. Absolutely amazing!!
Your raised beds have really thrived. What soil did you use?
It was an organic compost soil purchased in bulk that we had alex get for us so I dont have a brand :( sorry!
Sydney I think we got the same storm as you here in SW MO and are in process of replacing our roof. My shingles I have now are discontinued and look close to yours. Would you mind sharing the manufacturer and name of the shingles? I would be really appreciative. Everything looks so great.

@@SydneyDorman thanks so much
😍🥰❤❤❤❤❤
Because she mentioned that a more elaborate roof would be out-of-pocket.
I am getting a new roof with the highly resistant heat shingles in a lighter brown which ranks better from a white roof. They will work from 6 am. to 1 p.m. to avoid the heat. Where are you?
Love all your hard work. Could you do a video on how to use your drip system? I would like to know how long to wander and how often you use the system. Thank you
It all depends on your weather, temps, soil.
yes, I can! It will be different for different climates but I will share my info on it. I should have that video out next week sometime!
So did you finally get rid of that nasty fence growth from your neighbor? It would climb over the fenceand invade you?
It was actually in between the fences (we both have the pretty sides of the fence) that allowed it an isolated place to grow that we couldn't get to. We both wanted the vine gone as neither of us planted it. It should be taken care of now!
Yipeee
Did the insurance pay for the roof and gutters?
I don’t understand why this is important for you to know! 🤦♀️
Yes, it was due to a hail storm.
Sydney, your home and gardens look wonderful. Your personal touches are in beautiful taste, thoroughly thought out, and superbly well done!
I’m finding these videos getting to be unrelatable. Such a young couple and so wealthy. They wait for nothing
