  • Explore beavers in the big city through this entertaining and educational webinar featuring Katie Lamboy from the Bronx, Dr. Sandra Clinton from Charlotte, and Dr. Benjamin Dittbrenner from Seattle.
Katie Lamboy is an Environmental Educator and the Science Coordinator at the Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak. A Bronx native, she is passionate about supporting her local community and environment. This passion fueled her previous work with the Bronx Children's Museum and the Bronx River Alliance, where her public outreach on beavers returning to New York City’s waterways propelled “Jose” and “Justin”, the Bronx River Beavers, into the national spotlight.
Dr. Sandra Clinton is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research focuses on the structure and function of freshwater ecosystems in urban settings, including the effects of beaver dams on the hydrology and biogeochemistry of urban streams. Sandra also serves as Co-Chair of the National Beaver Science & Research Working Group.
Dr. Benjamin Dittbrenner is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Environmental Science and Policy Masters program at Northeastern University. His research explores the potential of beaver dam networks, including those in urban systems, to offset climate change-induced hydrologic and temperature shifts. He is also the Co-founder and Associate Director of Beavers Northwest, a non-profit that promotes beaver-human coexistence in western Washington and beyond.
