    I started papercrafting back in my early 30s. (now am 69) I have a LOT of stuff!!! Not only that, when I took up rubber stamping I was already doing crochet, plastic canvas, counted cross stitch etc so I ALREADY had a houseful of stuff so when I started buying stamps (OY) It got out of hand but like you said, I will do it some day. Well in the past couple of years I have found it easier to destash and I am liking not having so much. I used to have "I need it all" syndrome. If I bought a stamp pad, I NEEDED all the colors, if I bought a marker, I needed ALL the colors... I recently picked out over half of my embossing folders that I didnt use, about half of the punches that I didnt use. about half of the stamps that I got, used a couple times and then they sat on the shelf, and a bunch of other things and i got rid of all of that and losing that 500 pounds of stuff (LOL) made me feel so GOOD! I dont regret getting rid of any of it! In fact I really need to go through and get rid of more but that is a project for another day! I put this in here to encourage all the people who want to get rid of a lot of stuff, just do it! I am a visual person, If I dont see something, I dont have it so I just craft with the stuff I see in my craft room now and it is so freeing!

    Probably my biggest over all regret is all the money I spent on cute stamp and die sets. Now that I've been making cards a little while, anything I buy has to be something I can expand on, be motivated to use over and over and in different ways. It has to be versatile. Great video!

    Thanks for sharing, Lolly. I regret buying tons of printables for junk journaling. I find because of the inexpensive prices, I impulse buy way too many. I used to own a rubber stamp company and ran the business from my home. My house burned 11 years ago destroying the original artwork and computers, but I still have a lot of rubber stamps. Beause I lost all my personal property, I've replaced a lot of what I lost. I also now have a new craft hoard that rivals the pre-fire accumulation. (Sigh.)

    What a great video. My regret was a subscription and the many dies I have purchased and never used. I have given a lot of my stuff to a friend’s autistic niece who likes to make cards. That did help relieve the guilt of my unnecessary spending. This year my goal also is to not purchase craft supplies. Use what I have.

    I have been crafting for over 60years. In May, I had to clean up my craft room, since we were getting new windows and had to be able to get to the window😳. As a result I gave away over 50 large boxes of craft supplies to fellow crafters and had a free garage sale. It was so uplifting to give away supplies to folks who are enthusiastic about crafting. I don’t regret it at all, plus we got our windows and I can walk in my craft room. I have located supplies in there that I had forgotten all about.😊
    The only craft supply I got rid of (years ago), that I wish that I had now was my big kick die cut machine. I would love to have it to embossed my small watercolor creations for card making. Not too bad, for all the stuff that I have let go of. I also do fine art stuff, so my supplies are abundant.
    I regret getting an Easy Press, as I haven’t used it much. However, I purchased Derwent watercolor pencils over 20 years ago and I finally used them last year, glad I didn’t get rid of them. I regret buying adorable fabric that I never used…but I gave it to a gal that does charity quilts, so it is getting used. I believe that when I worked full time, I craft shopped as a way to cope with my stressful job…dreaming of the day when I would have more time to create. Now that I am retired (less income), more time, I still think about buying supplies, but I try to keep the “Want Monster” in check.
    Thank you for this video.

    ]'m a hoarder. I bought dylusions paint, two sets bcuz I can't stand the thought of running out. I stocked up on them, tcw butter paste, paints in general, markers, tons of stuff like that. They dried up. You cannot stock up on stuff and not use it. Wasted lots of $....hundreds....and I have to toss it all out. My one day never came. I have lost interest in most of it. Still usable I wind up donating to goodwill bcuz I dont know anyone who wants it. I've got the gorguss girls, too. Not all of them but a few. Never used. Julie Nutting....not all but most. Used very few. I love love LOVE dyan reaveley dylusions...but I don't create like she does. I keep telling myself I will but I don't. I love it. I love her stuff. It's just not me though. I've limited my buying on that bcuz I do know what I'm more likely to use. 😢 so much....too much. You want to support these creators but you just can't every one. I begged n begged to get a die cut machine. Never used it. Now I want to, I can't find the handle! It's crazy. I hardly comment but like most crafters, I fell into impulse buying my crafting supplies several times and regret later. It is a good thing that I do not buy expensive ones. If I do not use some of them, I will pass them on. One man's junk is another man's treasure. I do keep some of them for my enjoyment too. If I know my crafting pals well, I will ask if they have spare ones of a certain item that I need and vice versa. In this way, we don't have to order online as it comes in bulk at times and is just too much to use it all.

    Oh my. I had that whole book of Gorjuss Girl stamps - all 60, plus some of the larger ones as well. I used to have a collaboration with a few others and did actually use them for that. Then, they sat and were just taking up precious space in my small craft room. I sold the whole lot last year. It was hard at first to let go, but I don't regret it. Also, I never really got into the Julie Nutting trend either.
    I tend to go ALL IN when I see something that I think I may enjoy, which is really not a great way to be. Most recently, I bought a hot foil machine, and also a wax seal set. I think I will enjoy the hot foiling, but I'm not 100% convinced on the wax seal. I did only buy a small amount of wax and one or two seals. That may be all I ever get. But, here I go again. lol Also, yes, the Kits. Sigh. I do like Spellbinders for exactly the reason you said - I can cancel after seeing ahead of time what it will be, or change to a different one, etc. Grab bags I learned about also - not Michael's, but bead grab bags mostly. I would rather pay to get what I need or want than a bag of stuff I may never use.

    You are so right. I have all of the dolls and more. I have 30 plus prima dolls, COPIC markers over 100 of them. How about the House Mouse collection . It hard to let them go😢

      Haha! Being so new to crafting, I “thought” I knew what I’d be using, but even though the dollar store items I bought were “individually” inexpensive to purchase, I bought way too many and they are now just taking up valuable space, making it harder to focus on the few items I might want to use. 😂😂 Also, I bought a few digital kits that I still super love, but my model of printer goes through ink really fast and at $80 for a new cartridge, they turned out to be more costly than buying 12 x 12 printed paper pads.

    I regret buying tsukinekos gluepad. I have never used it . I thought they would be great for stamping sentiment and foiling them but somehow I never dare. 😊-

      I bought that pad as well, because the salesperson told me that I could dip ephemera into it and glue it to my page. That's not how it works. It is supposedly for adding glitter to a piece. I got rid of it.

    When you use these products, you don’t give yourself a chance to create. All the creativity had been done by the original artist. I don’t but any cricut stuff or Tim Holt stuff. It’s appealing, but not my vibe.

    • @LollyPalooza
      @LollyPalooza Před 6 měsíci +1

      I do use some similar products, but it's the amount of the purchases that prohibits the full use of them. I can create with a new stamp set or die set every other month, but not every week.

    • @ButtercupK
      @ButtercupK Před 6 měsíci

      Haha! I WANT to be creative - it’s just more difficult for some of us than others and perhaps that’s the reason we “think” we need so many products. You’re so blessed to be able to create without all the props! I really want someone to teach us how to get creative without all the super cute stuff, but the cute stuff is always demoed, so it makes some of us (me) think that’s how to be creative. I’m so grateful for this video, because it’s making me realize that all the toys might NOT be essential to crafting and I’m glad I’m finding it out now, before I make a lot of unnecessary purchases!
