@@esmakica2055 hey Esma I did it through my state’s virtual school program (VirtualSC). You’ll have to check with your guidance counselor to see if that’s an option for you.

Wow! Congrats on all of your accolades and getting into such incredible schools. Very interesting to watch.
On a different note, you mentioned having a focal theme within the extracirriculars, but I have something like 4 different, and mostly unrelated, acticities that I am super passonate about. In your opinion do you think that having these diverse activities would hinder my future application process and I should drop one or if I should do them for fun. I do have career related activity without any way to make it stronger sincemy school doesn't offer many opporunities for it, but most of them are just huge parts of who I am. It's hard to tell if this would demonstrate my passion or if it would come off as just an attempt to be involved just for colleges. Do you have any advice on this? If not, I totally understand, but all around some great advice you gave ❤

Congrats on getting into these awesome schools! I'm not sure how to win awards/honors and stuff and that's what's really stressing me out because I feel like I'm not good enough and if I don't get national or state level awards I don't even stand a chance at getting into one of these schools :(

I have a question about your schedule, can you only take AP's in a year of high school rather than regular classes? If so, do you need some credits in order to do that or what is the process?

Hi! my transition from 8th to 9th grade was taugh, I wasn't suppose be to in ESL class in 8th grade but the school put me in that class because there no seats in regular classes, so it didn't prepared me for high school sicne ESL classes were much easier than regular class, it did affetc my 9th grade grades, since there's a big difference in ESL classes and honor classes, I took honor classes in 9th grade. Should I explain that to colleges and they'll understand? Does it count as an extenuating circumstance? Thank you!!
Your videos are so inspiring and you seem like a great person! I am honestly really interested in doing medical research as well but I do not know any hospitals or doctors that take high school students for research. Do you have any advice or tips pursuing my passion for research?
Check out your local medical school! There are tons of professors doing super relevant health related research.
Can you make a video on online school for foreign languages because I want to do that and I’m not as aware of it.
Do you think it would be okay if I only did NHS for one year? I don’t have enough hours yet because the organizations canceled my volunteer opportunities, and I don’t want to volunteer “just to volunteer”.
I’m in 8th grade and I really like science but am also extremely interested in creative writing. I’m finding it hard to try to focus on one to be my main “hook” for college, and find a theme between the two. If you have any ideas please lmk ur video was really helpful?
Hey I was actually kind of in your position too! I connected the two by writing and editing for school's STEM newspaper. If your school doesn't have one, this would be the perfect opportunity to start it and build up a staff! I guess the writing I did was more factual and less creative, but it all depends on how you portray the information. There are a lot of science inspired writing contests too (lol I found one on wattpad last year). I would say if you're interested in pursuing a STEM major, then make that your main "hook," but you can still weave in your creative side through how you portray yourself in your application essays.
Is starting an NHS chapter at my school in junior year and staying involved until graduation a very impressive EC or is it like "eh" meaning something that admissions officer see all the time or won't care about??

Hii , in my locality there are no reserch facilities and no teacher & professors in my locality have no intrest towards the research . They just teach us how to score well in exams . For somehow i did some research on my own gaining the information and tried to make a design and a product & boom , it got failed . so , that's not the point , will my research help me in my college admissions ? are there any research internship programmes going online ? By the ways , congrats for your acceptance into your d=DREAM college .

I intend to pursue neuroscience (I am 8th grader). But doing research in india is super tough.. there aren't local uni or anything that gives opportunities for reserach for high schoolers (to be honest to get opportunities for graduates is even tough).. does this decrease my chances .. of course I do have plans of other stuff liking my starting my own organization (medical related) and e business ... so please answer??.. Hey! I didn't use any extra books to prepare for reading and writing other than the collegeboard sat review book, but I would suggest checking out Khan Academy for specific exercises to practice.

Email a professor or two at your local college! I would recommend reading their research papers and citing what exactly you find interesting about their work.

Hi! My state actually has a specific online school program, so if your's does to your guidance counselor should know about it! Unfortunately, if the website is not directly linked to your high school you won't be able to transfer the credit to your transcript.

for a few schools there is an option to upload an abstract or research paper in your application! For MIT and Columbia, there is a separate research supplement where you can describe your work in more detail!

Did you do robotics/coding in high school ?
nope! I'm trying to improve my coding experience now, but if you are interested in pursuing mechanical/electrical engineering I would definitely recommend getting involved in robotics/coding. My school actually did have robotics and comp sci courses, but I didn't realize I was interested in doing engineering until very recently so I did not have time to take advantage of those opportunities.
