If Archie was horrible why did they all love him so much.
Who are 'they' and it's because for a lot of his reign he was deceptive and fooled people so the characters weren't aware of how wicked he was. Only when the Ronnie and Stacey rape revelations came out later did he become a proper villain.
Fact: In real life there are no such thing as will readings. These are added to tv and movies for dramatic effect.
I have yet to see A Reading on A Soap Opera where everyone is happy and satisfied with what they got. It didn't happen on Emmerdale, Guiding Light and certainly not Dallas where Christopher Ewing's Money was left in trust by his Mother Pam until he reached an Adult Age. JR was to put it mildly furious.

Archie wasn't always bad. He was a great character. if only his family would be civil and forgive Archie. Stacey had no right to kill him. Archie has redeeming moments. Sean Slater is far more evil. Archie was good.

He gave his own granddaughter away and lied to Ronnie about it and even after he basically caused his own granddaughters death He was still about to frame his own nephew for arson and Destroy his own family all entirely for his own gain. And he maintained that life until he was a very old man; definitely redeeming and good hearted ain't he.

I watched them around 1995 when they started when I was a kid and this is not the actress who played Harmony, there was a cast change in the later seasons of it but by then I was a teenager and no longer watching kids shows but I do recall reading Harmony, the protagonist, was not in the later years so maybe you are confusing it with the later years? The actress playing the lawyer is not the Harmony Parker I watched.
