- Chrysler outboard remove flywheel set points test Condenser
The crank shaft has a little straight mark and when the points move around to this you set them.
.040 is the points gap
Once you set them just spin it around couple times and recheck them.
The mixture screw is about 1 1/2 turns out to get ya started and work in slow to lean it out.

Much appreciated brother
I love old tech... It is simple and IT WORKS!
Sure is everything today ya buy is throw away.
On a condenser/capacitor I think you should be checking capacitance not the resistance. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Good info. I have a '72 9.9 that won't start as it has no spark on one cylinder. I suspect bad coil as it was running fine season before.
Sorry about the late reply no spark on one cylinder would be points gap to big on 1 set
Or the gap is closed up or dirty.
100% it is a points problem everyone blames the coil.
@randomthingsarebest1473 I have a 1978 Chrysler 7.5. It's got great spark and runs awesome! I get 21 mph tops on my 12 foot Starcraft with bare equipment and only myself in the boat. I want to find a tune-up kit before it's too late
Are coils, points and condensers still available?
new old stock is all you would get, people would have the stuff but you would pay for it tho.
