1. Open the Messenger app and log in to your account.
2. Visit the menu bar and click on settings
3. Scroll to find Account Centre
4. Select edit profile details
5. Select Account ownership and control
6. Select deactivation or deletion
7. Select Facebook account
8. Select deactivate messenger then click on continue
9. Input your password then click on continue
10. Click on deactivate messenger
