Synopsis:
Fed up with the lack of critical appreciation despite being a successful writer, Abhimanyu Roy (Ayushmann Khurrana) returns to his roots in Kolkata to write more meaningful literature and decides on an old-fashioned love story - which was now, 3 years in the making.
This writers block is called Bindu (Parineeti Chopra). How do you contain this unpredictable, crazy, restless, larger than life, live wire in the pages of a book?
As Abhi says ‘‘You know when a song comes on and you just have to dance? Bindu was that song. That silly infectious joyful tune you couldn’t get out of your head… even if you wanted to.”
So where should he begin? Where should he end?
But when Abhi stumbles across an old audio cassette of their favourite playlist, it sends Abhi down memory lane… and as he waltzes in and out of his past and present through the songs in the mixed tape, he finally faces reality and reconnects with his roots, with his family and his novel starts writing itself.
Of course, life in its usual scheming manner surprises him yet again and changes the ending of his book and his life, as he once again finds himself being pulled back into the center of that crazy little thing called love.
He realizes, that love, is neither time- nor place-dependent….
All we need is the right person next to us and of course the right soundtrack.

From 3:00 onwards the most realistic depiction of pondering upon past love happens. After dancing crazily with each other they realise that they are still very candid and comfortable with each other. Esssentially they're the same people at the core of their hearts. Then Abhimanyu and Bindu hold hands and Abhimanyu shakes both his hands saying "It should have been us right now, we should've worked out perfectly for each other". Bindu nods in agreement and looks down a little disappointed, also remembering that she's married and keeping the dignity of her marriage. Abhimanyu realises that this thought disturbed her a little and shakes his head and says "forget it silly, it didn't work out for us". Bindu then tried to say "yeah it didn't but it could have" and then they hugged each other to reminisce on their love. They both smile, cherishing what they have right now. The beautiful moment they're spending with each other. They'll still remain friends, their bond is unaffected by what they lost. They realise there is no point in pondering over what they could have been, rather they should celebrate what they have now and make the fullest of it and they proceed to dance together again.

I was not so emotional about love and affection till date and previously I was so paranoid about such *" heart broken type "* of comments which I thought to have no place in human emotions but when *"that feeling"* happened with me it changed my whole prospective of life . My feelings for her is something that *I can't express to her* since it's too late ( she is getting married ) but seeing her happy in this moment is something I want and *I am ok even if it hurts till my core* .

I just finished watching the movie. My favorite scene was when Bindu struggles with Abhi’s marriage proposal and says “ ye haar mere liy bhot bhari ho rha hai Abhi”.
and Abhi cryingly opens the Haar for her symbolising he is letting her go.

I just watched it today and I can't tell you guys how overwhelmed I was after watching this , this is the true masterpiece of the century. After watching this scene in Climax , I literally cried my heart out & I can genuinely feel the pain of Abhi when he says "Aaj wo Mrs. Nair hai kisi ki Maa hai Kisi ki Bahu hai lekin mere liye hamesha wo meri bindu rahegi , Meri Pyari Bindu" - Mujhe laga ab mera kalega phat kar mere haath me aa jayega. This is the best movie I have ever watched till date & it has became my favorite movie of all time & you know this masterpiece is not for everyone , this is a legendary movie.

The problem is audience always wants a happy ending with the guy and girl walking off hand in hand...happy endings can be achieved separately too where they arent together but have made peace with their decisions...unfortunately most audience cant accept this type of ending
