Arthur was obviously well-feared by the O’Driscoll’s, the Lemoyne Raiders, AND the Murfree while John is feared by the Skinner Brothers, the Laramies, AND the Del Lobos!

The dumbest thing I have seen is that you get attacked by the skinner brothers, you capture one of the members of the their gang and tie them up to take to the police, you get a "do gooder" who reports you for kidnapping and have a warrant issued for your arrest . I even had the skinner brother follow me all the way to the jail after I released them to "set them up" and after the skinner brother attacked me with a knife inside the police station, they ignored him and arrested Jon . But yet when I capture one of the Skinner brothers when it's a bounty , nobody says a word . How would a citizen know that in one situation, a man tied to the back of my horse is for a bounty , but in another , it's supposedly kidnapping ?

They just sat still not saying a word, hoping that Arthur would see their passivity and leave them alone. Instead I remembered that I had to do the challenge where I killed 4 people with one stick of dynamite. So I placed the dynamite and ignited, they were still sitting still, and it exploded.
Situation like that always start off with a volatile dynamite at the campfire & while it's in mid air start a dead eye on the closet couple of guys with a repeater. 3 Seconds and it's all over with.

It’s clickbait but the skinners do say “It’s the rancher with the scar face” when attacking them sometimes usually after the mission where you save Uncle from their main camp. So they do recognize John from that mission but obviously if they feared him they wouldn’t try attacking him automatically
