The little girl died alone of starvation and neglect. Horrific .
I couldn't take it when they revealed that this poor baby was eating it's own feces in an attempt to survive. I just can't.

This baby died alone in the dark, soiled, hungry, cold. She screamed into the night and her mother never returned. There were options, leaving the child alone to die was not one of them.

I'm amazed that this wasn't a death penalty case. Leaving your 16-month-old daughter to starve to death because you want to party in Puerto Rico... For 11 days? The poor baby was found covered in feces. The pain after being hungry for 12 hours is bad enough as a full-grown adult, I can't imagine 11 days... Absolutely evil, worst of the worst.

The death penalty is legal in Ohio but the governor has suspended executions (for reasons that i personally believe are bullshit). And there hasn't been an execution of anyone on death row in ohio since 2018

As a single mother who has battled mental illness, I call bullshit she wanted her baby to die! Her parents seem supportive enough to have taken their granddaughter in while she took some days off, she absolutely did it on purpose. She deserves to be in jail for the rest of her miserable existence.

I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Cleveland Police, Homicide unit, the EMTs, the Medical Examiner, and everyone else involved in this case who sat on the state's side of the court, standing in as family for sweet little Jailyn. As the prosecutor pointed this out, I burst into tears. And that POS sorry excuse for a human being sat there with zero remorse, shedding NOT ONE tear. Thank You wonderful people for showing so much love & respect for this baby's life, while her own family wouldn't even claim her.

I became a single mom when I was 27 years old…I had two children … now young adults… and I love them so much… and my divorce was horrible… and I didn’t have a place to live I was always in places with friends… letting me sleep in living rooms… and always my priority were my babies… no going out no dating anyone because I didn’t want no men to hurt my babies and this woman doesn’t even have the remorse… increíble 😢😢

I just don't understand why she didn't ask someone to watch the baby. Or why neighbors didn't call police/try to break in. They heard her screaming and crying. All it would have taken was for someone to knock on the door, get no answer, then call the cops.

The judge, who appeared to be on the verge of tears multiple times, clearly made the correct determinations. I know that we all hope this ruling and his moving statement has an impact on the monster, but almost certainly it will do nothing to help rehabilitate her. She truly is a monster.

I was 24 years old with 3 babies. Their dad wanted to live his life away from us. I never left my kids alone. They are 31, 28, 27 today. They are still my life. We talk every day. We live in the same town. I love them and I love their kids so much. I don't understand this. If I eat something or if I have a good time without them I feel sad because they were not there to enjoy it with me. How can this waste of space be away from her baby for so long? She's soulless.

Depression can absolutely cause this. Just because it wasn't your experience doesn't mean it's not someone else's. Lots of people neglect their kids due to depression. Lots of people vacation and party while severely depressed. Lots of kids/people are killed by people who are depressed.

She thinks she didn't do much harm because she wasn't there to watch/listen to her suffer and die. She thinks because she wasn't there, that she didn't directly kill her, that her crime wasn't intentional. She knew what would happen.
Something messed her head up when she was young. Mental health issues for sure. It explains her actions but doesn't excuse it.
I have cried for two days. I can’t stop thinking about that little girl in her final moments. This is probably one of the most monstrous things I’ve ever come across, and I watch a lot of crime shows. This is beyond human comprehension.

I’m so disturbed I can’t even function. My three year old is laying next to me while I cry my entire soul out. I don’t even know how to cope with the emotions I’m feeling from this. It is despicable and incomprehensible. I have never even my life seen something so demonic and evil

OMG I have a problem leaving my 3 doggies for a couple of hours and debated with my 14-year-old son about leaving him for a few hours. My heart aches for that baby girl, the pain and confusion she must have gone through.

Prison justice is for movies. Women in jail don't care what other immates did. All they care about is extra food and getting their hair braided.

And i have been hard on myself for letting my daughter eat too many snacks on days i was sick or very depressed and didn't cook large meals....never would allow her to be hungry ever
Sometimes it's all you can do and that's still love and care for them. We will always want better for them but your love is what she feels and matters the most.

Was she mad she got a life sentence with no parole? What was she expecting to be set free and a party afterwards? The audacity! No shame, remorse or repentence. I never heard any of those words come out of her mouth for her own daughter. Who knows what that little baby had to endure before the trip. I hope Ecuadorians are not like this because that puts a lot of shame in their country. Do mother get away with doing this to their babies down there because she clearly had some sort of horrendous expectation that that would happen here. I haven't stopped crying for baby Jailyn ever since I found out about her story.
No water for 3-4 days youre toast even as a healthy adult. What an abortion the mother should've been and spared all her kids. Awful

She didn't even cry when they played ring camera audio and you could hear the baby screaming in the middle of the night June 9th.
If her mental health issues was such a big issue why didn’t her parents check in on the baby weekly…so everyone whose saying she didn’t get the right punishment exchange places with baby Jayden! She right where she belong she was on the beach drinking and tanning while the baby was laying eating her own feces…..JUSTICE WAS SERVED AS BEST IT COULD BE!!!
