- How to change your boats oil. Simple and easy steps to follow. This works on Almost all Inboard Motors. I have a Mercruiser 4.3 in this video. This will work on a Mercruiser, Volvo, OMC, GM or just about any inboard. Although, the weight of the oil, amount of oil and filter could vary.

Thanks for the tips, beats spending 250.00+ @ a shop and waiting a week to get my boat back! 🙏🏼
NICE, Ive done mine recently. I used a 12v oil pump from Amazon. Oil comes right up n out. I used a filter wrench with 15 flute for filter worked great also. Lefty loosy or turn wrench towards engine with strong slow turn to loosen.🤙🏽👍🏼✌🏽
So you are leaving decades of oil sludge in the oil pan? Dont you have a drain hose on the pan drain? Tighten the oil filter 3/4 turn beyond contact.
Hey Chris. Please keep up these maintenance videos! You’ve been great help for us!
Always look forward to your videos . Keep it up Chris your are the best for the boating community showing us how to do our own maintenances esp in these times .
Just picked up a 2014 Bayliner 185 with the 4.3 Mercury. I'm glad I found your videos, already can tell they're going to help me out quite a bit. I'm very mechanically inclined but it's the fort time I own a boat so need to learn my way around this engine and maintenance etc..
Hi Chris, thank you for your video on the 4.3 oil change very helpful. I didn't know how to get the oil out but now I know.
cheers Lindsay - Uk 4.3 Regal owner.

I have the 4.3L. This video is the answer I needed! Was wondering where the oil filter was!!! Just found your video on the drive lube monitor. Mine was empty after 2 years of storage. Appreciate your videos so much!

Great video. Any videos on changing the thermostat on that motor?
Any videos on greasing the zerks on the starboard and port sides of the outer unit? I see the connectors and have the grease…not sure how much to pump in. Any thoughts?
Hello, how do you read the correct filled level! How do you measure a 'top up'? My old engine is bound to burn oil? Thanks! Greetings from Thailand.
Thank you
Damnnn, that engine bay is so clean !
How many quarts does your lower unit take? What do you use? TYIA
Chris: Any videos you may have about 4.3 mercruiser and “ dieseling/ run on “ ?
Be interested in your thoughts.

I only put 30 hours each year and had my last oil change last year. I checked today and oil is pretty clean. Should I change it or just do what mercury says, change it every 300 hours or 3 years.
What pump please
Fantastic video. I have a chaparral looking to change the oil as impeller this weekend as well. Do you have a video on the impeller ? I have the 5.0 mercury
Not of the gen 2. I have a not so great video of the gen 1.
Hello I just bought a 2007 bayliner 175 and its has mercruiser engine but I dont know how to determine model number how can I check it can you guys help me? Thanks in advance
When I used to do oil changes on my cars, after I drained the oil I poured 1 can in and let it drain all the way through. Also, fill the oil filter with new oil then replace, carefully. I seen a youtube on using a plastic disposable cup, big enough to hold the filter, finish unscrewing the filter into the caup and it will catch the dripping oil, too. Just saying.
Hi Chris, My filter is super stuck. How do you recommend removing it? I have tried regular oil filter removal tool and one that tightens with a ratchet.
Mine was like that, just use a screwdriver to perforate the oil filter and try to rotate it
👍👍
Thanks for the video. I'm dying to know where that bag of oil went when you threw it overboard.
Same place the dirty paper towels go
@@BigIslandMNMinnetonka Thanks, but I meant when it hit your driveway. Did it splash all over? That’s what would of happened to me.
You got a link for that pump?
I was thinking the same. He didn't mention the part num. Of the pump in the vid. Probably important..
Where's the oil drain pan bolt?!
I didn't think the dipstick tube went all the way to the bottom of the pan in order to get all of the old oil out?
It does.
Hey Chris, how often do we change the oil?
Recommended every 100 engine hours or at least once a season
Зачем нужно было выливать масло из старого фильтра в пакет для мусора?
Wow, i never saw boats that you can see open motor, I just bought a 2013 Chaparral 19 H2O and there is no room around. I am afraid to winterize myself
I pulled the back bench to get that much room.
Thank you so much brother this video was perfect 🙏💪
I do it when I'm sailing in the ocean I use a pump and just dump it into the ocean easy peas
LOL!! not even a single drop in a bucket 🪣
