I have to deal with a strange error. My reviewer want the names of the authors to be uppercase. I put them in uppercase using Notepad++. However, once I open the saved file, even before the changes, the lines linking the map circles vanish. Anyone knowns how to solve this?
It seems that the saving method @59:34 'How to save the file - MAP & NETWORK' is incomplete. I couldn't understand how to insert the map file and network file. How to do this and in which format are these to be saved?
Sir when I am using vosviewer, on creation of map, in the type of analysis only co-authorship option is working. (co-occurence, citation, bibliographic coupling, co-citation is not working). please suggest me what to do.
Mam, that is because either you are using the dimensions data (in dimensions u have to subscribe to get those features) or if u r using data from Scopus or Web of Science then u have to go to custom edits to include the options of authors, keywords, affiliations.
@@kekuleconnect I have one more doubt. As I am collecting data from either from web of science or scopus. There is a limit of 500 articles and 2000 articles repectively. I am confused how to add data of approx 5000 articles to vosviewer for a particular bibliometric analysis. Please suggest me.
@@jyotijyoti1008 its simple. when u go over the export section u see the numbers of articles. for example: 2200 is the number of articles. so first download from 1-1000. then 1001 - 2000. and after that 2001-2200.
@@kekuleconnect but sir how to upload the whole data for processing in vosviewer at one time. If I have total 2200 articles then I got two text files of 2000 articles and one for 200 articles. Now i want data from both files for bibliometric analysis. Then please tell me how to use the whole data for processing in vosviewer.
@@jayasreedas5227 open access. and its the biggest database there is. even better than WoS and Scopus. just because Elsevier owns the WoS. It has value. So the kind of data u will get from LENS is different and more diverse.

Well, I will definitely agree that this is not a best tutorial video and have some lacking. At that time I was also someone who doesn't knew how to make one with effectiveness. I would really appreciate a critical feedback from you. What and where u think the topic was rushed or not tackled properly. This only happened (in my case) when I didn't chose the correct NETWORK file. The MAP and NETWORK file should be of the same attribute.

Well, that's not possible because every reference is distinct and whenever a cluster is formed the software sort them out through weightage.

I do not have an access to Scopus or web of science but I want to use VOS so is there any way out? Shall I go for dimensions?
Definitely. Also, LENS is really a good platform.
