- Built on top of a hill exposed to the rocks of Serra da Gardunha, the village of Castelo Novo is related to the first years of the Portuguese independence. In 1208, during the reign of King Sancho I, Pedro Guterres gave this land to the Knights Templar.
Legendary extraterrestrial sightings take place for three days of celebration to the Historical Village of Castelo Novo. A great battle fought in the Serra da Gardunha, between extraterrestrial beings... mysterious lights that appear in the sky and the great speed... This is the motto for a different party that will take place in the Historical Village of Castelo Novo, from July 27 to 29.

I’m going to look into this!! I heard the Fado in Coimbra last week just by chance. I’m still trying to get to the library there and we haven’t even seen Porto or the wine region. Portugal has so much to offer!
