Most bands use teleprompters, that's a lot of lyrics and songs to remember even if you do it night after night. Judas Priest, Metallica, Motley Crue etc .... all use teleprompters and it's no big deal, at least you know it's 100 % live.
There is no excuse. I know from vast experience that if your looking down at information while singing, then you have zero connection with the music. These big folk only have to do a hand-full of classics and easily could adhere them to their minds. Like a vegas act gone old with too many distorted guitar god complexes.
