We had a cracking 2 days fishing various marks.
We actually started at Blyth Harbour because of the terrible weather, ventured to Cambois Beach, Howick, Cullernose and Lynemouth.

It was a great weekend even though that wind was tough.

I’m really pleased with it.
When I first got it I thought it was flimsy as it’s so light….
But I was very wrong!!

My rig consists of this:
A large 3 way swivel.
18” of 75lb mono to the hook.
6” of 45lb mono to the weight.
Is the most simple and effective rig I use for cod.
The weight line acts as a rotten bottom without all the carry on with clips and extra line.
Iv never understood why anyone would use heavier line on their weight for rough ground.
The strongest part of my trace is the end the fish will be on mate 👍
I’m happy to snap off the weight and keep the fish everytime.
Also the cox and Rawle hooks I use will bend out of snagged.
The reason I use massive 3 way swivels is so I can see what I’m doing 😂!
And also they don’t penetrate the line as much as thinner ones would whilst pulling out of a snag.
I have a small camper van
Can you advise me on any campsites close to where I can fish thinking of mid February

I much prefer the single as it’s lighter to carry but more importantly

For mixed and rough ground fishing I use 4 strand 68lb Dingbear braid which is as rough as a badgers!! But it doesn’t nik on rocks, it’s cheap and effective 🤝
