Lailli welcome back! Please correct your narrative around natural diamonds having zero re-sale value? You know that is absolutely false. As someone who buys n wears jewels like you do, I don’t understand why you would say something false and unnecessary. You could have still promoted lab grown without propaganda
What I meant was, I personally don’t think anyone is paying more for “worn/preloved natural diamond jewellery” - when it comes to resale value. You may get the price you paid but rarely more for it, it depends on the piece and the brand.

Umm actually diamonds - natural or lab both do not hold their value. That’s a fact - please do your research or try buying a natural diamond and see what you can get for it on the preowned/resale market. Only natural diamonds with exceptional quality/size and provenance hold their value.
@@LailliMirzaWhile I agree that resale on second hand jewelry doesn't retain its original value or increase in value that is primarily due to the mark-up being so high to begin with; however, it's not accurate that mined diamonds don't have more value than lab-grown diamonds. Mined diamonds will always be of higher value than comparable lab-grown stones. After all, that's why lab-grown has gained popularity because it comes at a lower price point than mined diamonds. idyl's modular concept is unique and they have some lovely designs but I'm just not on the lab-grown bandwagon. It's getting to the point where it's difficult to find any affordable natural gemstone pieces. For someone like me that appreciates the beauty and variations in natural gemstones it makes me sad to see where the jewelry industry is headed.
I agree. When you resale natural diamonds you will get less but you can’t even resale the lab grown they are worth nothing.

Can you share your tips on tailoring/alterations? I’m also quite petite, but I’m so scared of getting stuff tailored because I don’t want things to get ruined or end up too short/small. Would love to hear any advice on how to find a good tailor and what to say/ask for (length, hems, stitching, bring in the waist, etc). I have so many pieces that are unworn with tags because I bought it thinking “I can just get this tailored” but never ended up doing so!
