+TheSlackassCrew idk about you but silence in the snow is one of the best ablums they have made its super heavy but utilizes his amazing cleans now hes done vocal training to do his screams again correctly so expect the next cd to have the screams back.

Dave Grohl, Corey Taylor, and Matt are probably the most down to earth musicians in the rock genre (ik we said metal community but hey you get the idea)
And as far as sounding like Metallica I can hear it in some of the music but not in the singing. And if someone says you sound like them, then that would be a complement.. If you don;t like them than don't listen. And do people want to listen to your music or talk about your damn ears???

Agreed. Especially the ones who spend too much on the keyboard. They'll try to seem intelligent by writing over-detailed essays and using highly-advance vocabulary in a desperate attempt to make themselves look sophisticated. Don't be fooled, they're actually dumber than they present themselves to be.
... And plus, Heavy Metal can be negative, at times, since its' theme is fixated on darkness. So it makes sense why it attracts so many nerds and outcast dinguses with low self esteem issues.

Every time I see an interview with Matt Heafy he just seems like the nicest most genuine guy you could ever meet. He also takes criticism and hate so well...it just bounces right off his back. I also love how he just has his opinion and sticks by it but respects your right to have yours. I think he should get the title "nicest guy in metal" like how Dave Grohl is called the "nicest guy in rock". But seriously though, I'm a new fan of Trivium, just discovered the band a couple of moths ago, and definitely glad to be a part of the fandom...

The vocal style is the similar but that's about it. Some of the songs on the Crusade have breakdown parts, guitar solos use more than just the pentatonic scale silliness, they play in keys other than just e minor, etc. In fact I've found that the more you listen to The Crusade, it begins to sound more and more different than Metallica.

Ascendancy got me back on to metal after years of bad metal and rap metal. and i love how they change music over the albums. i often find i get that dread-relief feeling when i listen to a new album. ascendancy and ember to inferno heavily influence my own guitar style

I must say, I hated silence in the snow when it came out and its still not an album i put on, and have been one of the first to complain when they gave up screaming both times, but i have noticed listening to older albums then listening to some of the newer stuff and realize there is something for every mood... I officially grown to appreciate most of their sounds!

Trivium is an amazing band. Silence In The Snow wasn't for me, but it wasn't bad either. The fact that they're versatile is what makes them amazing ☺
I respect the your decisions to change within each and every album. I enjoy how different they are and how cool they are in their own way. Some sound more thrashy, some sound more metal-core, but they all sound pretty heavy to me with excellent instrumentation. You don't need to scream in every song to sound heavy, in my opinion.
One more thing Matt when will you guys come to Puerto Rico? They're metals fans here who love your music.

He is such a good sport the way he handles the shit they get from mean jealous assholes who are useless, and probably haven't even achieved 1/100th of anything these guys have...and as the saying goes, If you don't have anything nice to say then shut ya trap!

Trivium has a way of making you miss the last album before their new one every time since Shogun, which is a compliment and insult unto itself. After all is said and done I have to stand by IW, VF, and SITS... really stuff to enjoy in all 3 albums, even though nothing might ever strike the same Chord that Shogun did. Funny how crazy of an impact that album had across the world.

Let me make it clear Matt you don't have to scream to make your music sound heavy" Vengeance Falls" had little screaming and its an awesome heavy album. Look at Avenged Sevenfold Matt Shadows didn't like screaming seeing from the band's first two albums he wanted to sing and still to this day all their albums are heavy with NO screaming. Matt to me you will always make great heavy music cool riffs, guitar melody you guys are epic I love silence in the snow it was something new and refreshing and for that I love it. You guys keep making new sound music and keep laughing at the stupid haters. So any ideas for the next album?

Such a great person, love the guys in Trivium, but I really wish they could've expanded on their "Shogun" sound. That album, for me, was one of the best Metal albums of the past 15 years. So solid and explorative. "In Waves" was great too, but for different reasons. I love "Ember to Inferno" and "Ascendancy" because we were all Metalcore kids at that time and they are nostalgic. I even like "The Crusade" because it was well done, despite being VERY VERY Metallica-esque.
That said, I really can't stand their last two albums though. Here's to hoping for a return to form. Best Wishes to Matt, Corey, and co.

Teivum is definetly on top five bands together with a7x, Breaking Benjamin, Underwing, and Metallica
I don't like all the album's, but respect the musicanship.
I don't care for anything they've put out post Shogun.
However I will always respect them for being one of the bands that made me fall in love with aggressive music. I'll always love Ember through Shogun.
