  • Barranco Del Infierno is a popular place in the south of Tenerife. This video is about my experience doing Barranco Del Infierno hike in January 2020.

Thank you for your insights. So many people are putting this hike on their top list, however, this video made the impression that I might need to reconsider other options (and which are also free of charge! :)).

Hi Ieva, don't get me wrong-the hike is good,but...there are so many great hikes in Tenerife which are free and no one asks you to have an ID to do them. I also did Samara walk, Santiago del Teide to Masca and Taborno rock hikes and they were all amazing. And the crowds were not there and there isn't a closing time. Just few alternatives for you:)

Thanks for sharing! It's cool seeing this hike through the eyes of others. My wife and I really enjoyed it and we didn't mind paying the 8.5 euros, especially if it's used for maintaining the trails. I guess there was an accident in 2009 that shut down the trail and it didn't open again until 2015. Feel free to take a look at our video of the hike here: czcams.com/video/oNg0kpUq_zo/video.html. Cheers from Michigan, USA!

I believe that access to nature should be free of charge. What if someone is really poor and can't afford to pay the fee? That this mean they should stay home?Masca gorge trail is much longer and requires more maintenance but is free as any other trail in Tenerife. Thanks for you comments! Greeting from sunny England!

@@RossAngell I completely get where you're coming from. The way I see it, if someone is on holiday in Tenerife, I'm sure they can pay the 8.5 euro. And if they don't have the money, there are plenty of free hikes to choose from on the island. For safety, maintenance, guides, and other amenities, I'm happy to pay.

@@itineraryeurope Tenerife is too commercialized and the only free thing there is nature. I hope it won't be taken away.
