    Very intriguing the fertility rate in the Vatican. Are priests, bishops, cardinals or even Popes getting pregnant? We all know that they do things, but the question is: do they give birth?

      I think it refers to the number of childs that workers has with their wifes or couples (guards, maintanance workers, chefs, cleaning, etc), obviously if the person live inside of the city

    According to my knowledge from living in Taiwan, the fertility rates aren’t going to increase anytime soon due to the outrageous house pricing and ridiculous education fee, only those who can afford both of the above are to be even likely to start a family and have kids.

      How come someone who visited both the Philippines and Taiwan for the FIBA world cup said that Taiwan is cheaper than the Philippines? Maybe he meant only the food. Are the food cheap in Taiwan?

    • @Xuebatt
      @Xuebatt Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@wavemaker2077 Take this for example: let’s say that a sandwich is priced US$2.25 in Taiwan, but US$0.75 in Philippines, you can see that Taiwan’s sandwich is 3 times more expensive. However, Taiwan GDP per capita stands at $35,300, while the Philippines are$3,530, which means that on average Taiwanese people have 10 times more money to buy it, so it will seem cheaper in Taiwan.

    • @wavemaker2077
      @wavemaker2077 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@Xuebatt I do hope that the foreigner is looking at it like that and not comparing the prices directly. Anyway, if the Taiwanese earn a lot and they still can't afford to have a family, then the prices there are really expensive. Somehow, the more developed the country is, the more difficult it is for the people to have a family. Quite ironic.

    • @Xuebatt
      @Xuebatt Před 9 měsíci +2

      @@wavemaker2077 yeah I agree. In fact, those years it’s not just the education and real estate here that are expensive anymore, everything is becoming almost unaffordable. The prices of the boxed meals sold in the shop across my street literally doubled over the past 10 years, while the GDP per capita increased by a mere 60% and the standard worker salary went up only 20%. Inequality also plays a role in the problem, the rich become even richer and everything goes expensive. And Taiwan’s inequality problems aren’t even severe, it’s ranked middle throughout the world. Imagine places like Hong Kong and California where big companies thrive, the rich spending millions of dollars a day, and the average person possibly lives in a 100 square foot apartment, eating a bowl of noodles per day and struggling to live.

      Also: If liberals don't make any more kids, then the future generation will be raised more conservative, these generations are likely to have a higher fertility rates.

    The Vatican should have zero fertility rate. We are talking about the citizens of the country here and the citizens of the Vatican are the priests and nuns. None of them have a family and I don't think that there are so many nuns giving birth in the Vatican. Imagine the Vatican having a higher fertility rate than Hong Kong or South Korea. That's not possible.
