    Simply turning that cut edge as you go gets rid of that frayed edge and makes it look neater. I’ve been doing these for 40 yrs. they are fun and make great gifts. I’ve sold 30 to one lady this year! Yay!

    I started one last night before bed and finished when I had time today. I really like this tutorial, however, if I hadn’t been watching a variety of other tutorials I’m not sure I could’ve done it. Now that I’ve had refreshers and know what I’m doing again this one may be my go-to towel topper video. Short and sweet, plus I like how they look and the button is easy to insert. I’m making another one now.

    My sister makes so many of these and gifts them to others. Hers are really nice, she buys good patterned towels for the ones she makes. I have never made one, thank you for the tutorial Amy.

      Now you can make one. Scrubbies are nice, too. And a set with a towel and scrubby would be a nice gift.

      I would watch this video to help you czcams.com/video/Y3YL-M2budM/video.html, I showed what sells at craft fairs, Im not the best at pricing things, but if you go to etsy you can check how much they are selling their crochet products to give you ideas. I know hats, scarfs, wash clothes, I know the towel toppers I just made a video on are really popular! I liked the button headband ear warmers too, so many options really, I always buy the towel toppers when I go and I like to buy wash clothes too, I know I paid $4 dollars for the towel toppers you hang on your stove handle and buy the towels at dollar stores, and I paid $2 or $3 dollars for a washcloth and those really nice headbands can go around $15 to $20 but you need to add a really nice flower to it with a really nice button, hope that helps

    Hi I am just wondering did you cut the towel in half how long was the towel?I doing to but dishtowels at my local dollar store.I will be at my 1st craft show in February what would you suggest to crochet. Let me measure it for you when I get home, I cut the top of it

    • @CrochetJewel
      @CrochetJewel  Před 4 lety

      It’s about 14 inches long. You can cut in half or just cut the top off, it depends on how long you want it.

    • @CrochetJewel
      @CrochetJewel  Před 4 lety

      You can do it both ways, mine in this video was cut on the top and I started sewing across it or could do double sides and fold in half to make it thicker if I’m understanding you correctly.

      I used a small metal crochet hook for my first ones and then learned from a video to use an owl. They’re both about the same for me but will use the awl because it has a smooth wooden holder that is comfortable to push with.
