  • INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY EMPHASIZED DURING THE PHILIPPINE CULTURAL NIGHT HOSTED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF KOBLENZ
    The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt collaborated with the University of Koblenz, Helping Hands e. V, and UP Alumni Association in Germany to hold the 'Philippine Movie Night' held on April 18 at the Kultur Fabrik in Koblenz. The event, aimed at promoting integration and cultural exchange, showcased various aspects of Filipino culture, including film, dance, cuisine, and literature.
    During the event, Vice Consul Fatima Mueller emphasized the significant contributions of Filipinos to German society and the economy. She expressed hope that by showcasing Filipino culture and artistry, the event could help dispel biases and misconceptions about the Philippines and its people. She also advocated for inclusivity and cultural diversity in the German society, ultimately strengthening cultural and people-to-people relations between the Philippines and Germany.
    In celebration of Filipino Food Month, Tourism Attache D. Gonzales provided insights into Philippine destinations and highlighted PH slow-food cuisines, focusing on the food products of Western Visayas. Additionally, Filipino healthcare worker and author Al Joseph Lumen captured the audience's interest with his book "Auslander," which chronicles the experiences of Filipino healthcare workers living and working in Germany.
    The event also featured song and dance performances by the members of the Filipino community and showing of the independent film, "Leonor will never die."
