Beautifully performed with lovely choral tone. I love that the tempo is flexible, but doesn't drag. I'm not particularly fond of the interpretation of the word "Praise" in the last verse, but that's just me. Well done!
I'm curious. What specifically do you hear as "fussy" in this performance? I for one, appreciated the fact that the conductor refrained from inserting those fermatas not found in the score but "traditionally" inserted by even the composer himself when he conducted the piece...I've always considered those gratuitous fermatas to be "fussy." My only issue with this performance was that there were some intonation issues, but to me that doesn't count as "fussiness."
Full of emotion and beauty. ♥️
A first-class rendition. Soli Deo Gloria

Far too fussy. This is a straight forward anthem, or as Kenneth Jennings used to say, it is a march to be sung with conviction!
This is one of the best versions out there. How should this ever be sung as a march?
