I’m all for locking up scroats but if a car theft has a two year sentence and four scroats conspire on it then they would get 8 years each, serving 4 instead of one. That means four people times 3 extra years at £47,000 per year per prisoner = £564,000.00 extra cost to the taxpayer. I’m happy to pay extra tax to fund education or hospitals but not to pay for cunts to watch telly and play snooker.
