    I think there's something I'm missing with df3+4, because most people who don't play Lili seem to think that move is cheap and they all complain about it, but whenever i try to use it I get bad results more often than good. I think the mistake is to try using it at its maximum range; its long range is an obviously strong feature, so it's of course tempting to try to maximise that feature by throwing it out at range 3. But the problem with that is how the move is deceptively easy to whiff punish; the recovery is long and it moves Lili's hurtbox forward very close to the opponent. The solution to this problem? It might be better to use the move at closer ranges, specifically: (max range - 1 backdash). This way, you remove one risk factor from the equation, and still have a safe launcher. In this application, at this range, it's still quite slow, which remains a big weakness, but it retains strength in its safety and ability to launch crouchers. Its a good move but requires a good understanding of your opponents timing. Likewise with f4, which is another great move that suffers from long whiff recovery and and an advancing hurtbox, but compared to df3+4 is much faster and needs a counter hit. Anyways, thanks for the videos! I'm definitely have a lot to learn.

    • @Brian-oz8io
      @Brian-oz8io Před 4 měsíci +2

      I don’t use it often but if I use it and whiff, I just go straight into d2 from BT and it’s usually fast enough to duck if they throw a high or at least trade with something, force them to stop and block, or change whatever they were trying to do. Rarely get punished much for it
      It’s best used to punish other players for whiffing if you’re at the right range. Like if you’re not quite close enough to get another launcher but also not too far away

      If they expect you to double flip and you cancel into D4 they're losing like 35% because the ground DB, 3+4 is guaranteed. I use it in Oki a lot too for conditioning for a launcher. You can also go into armor from back turn. It's all about options.

    DF, 3+4 is a great move because of it's options. I did notice that you're much better off using Dew Glide, 3+4 in neutral. It catches side step in one direction and is +6 on block. F,3+4 is also good to mix in because it looks visually similar to DF, 3+4 but is much faster and has a stagger option.

  • @eggjones6039
    @eggjones6039 Před 4 měsíci +1

    The WS 1+2 is really good for mixing up and pressure, you can easily see glide cancel into db4. Or you can activate the heat power smash

  • @scorpioigor
    @scorpioigor Před 4 měsíci +13

    All these three moves have their applications in specific times. 1, 2, 3 and 1, 2, 4 can be useful to end the match near the wall, where the opponent will hesitate to sidestep or interrupt. Even high rank players have fallen for this. WS 1, 2 is a punisher, the low can also catch many people off guard if you know how to use it, and, yes, it should be avoided to be used on neutral play if the opponent knows how to duck. Yet, you can still use this in your favor. If your opponent ducks the high consistently, you can just do WS 1 and not finish it. You’ll be -10, but the opponent will duck or even attempt a punisher out of reaction, which you can punish back. Lastly, DF 3+4 is an excellent whiff punisher. If you learn how to use it when opponents are whiffing, you’ll get good results.

    I think DF 3+4 can be use to surprise them or to counter like if your opponent like to run forward to you, you can use it to lunch them into combo (Note: I'm only a green rank lili and i often use this move against players who like to spam or if they are aggressive 😅)

  • @SwipeGuy
    @SwipeGuy Před 4 měsíci +2

    As a lili main on my channel. the worst move is by far db4 her slow snake edge sweep why they haven't fixed it since ttt2 is criminal. The other moves you mentioned are bad if you constantly use it. However at high level even on my videos I use those moves to check to see an opponents knowledge on lili. If I see they read say 123. I'll try 124. If they know that then I'll do 12, df2 or mix up with other options.
    The df34 flip I love since I bait a power crush once her back is turned to opponent up close and its still a move out of range a lot of people aren't sure about and get caught with :)

    Really nice video. Idk if it’s like this for other Lili players, but I also find myself in a bad habit of doing df4,4 pretty often. Like you said about 1,2,3, people just know this string, it’s one of Lili’s famous animations, so they are going to crouch block the last hit, leaving Lili punishable. It’s gotten me clutch W’s but it’s starting to blow me up more than help me the more I play ranked. Instead I’ve started doing root of evil (ff4) which is hella good. It’s a bit slower, but I’ve actually gotten this move out a whoooole lot more than I thought I would. It being +10 on hit with bt stance is so satisfying.

    • @KASA671
      @KASA671  Před 4 měsíci

      Root of evil is one of my favorite moves and with bt it just made it so much better, especially CH.
      I’m planning on making a video of my wishful changes for Lili and one of them is actually making it to where df44 second hit will have the same interaction as ff4, bt and CH properties.
      The only reason I use DF44 is anticipating the second hit. I would do df4, then pause then d4 to end rounds. It works effectively imo.

  • @i_dont_have_a_youtube_chan8584

    Only reason i use 1,2,3 is to condition opponents into thinking I am going to spam it but than hit them with df2 or hopkick instead after 1,2 when they go for duck but honestly a lot of time muscle memory kicks in and I end up accidentally pressing 3 anyway and then i am cursing myself

  • @akashkulkarni3321
    @akashkulkarni3321 Před 10 dny

    I agree in neutral but WS12 has great use as a 13f punish or out of a low because you can now cancel it into dew glide which can go into dew glide 4 which is safe, obviously it's bad in neutral but why would you ever use it there.
    df3+4 in neutral is bad yes but as a long range whiff punisher or if you read your opponent doing a low is good
    WS12 also gives you a 50/50 with WS124 vs WS12 dew glide 21 (heat engager) and you can hit confirm the first hit which is safe and leave it on block

      They probably can change the axis to CH ss1+2 because the combo is funky.
      ss3 hmm it’s okay where it’s at.
      Now a useless move I think is d223. There’s really no reason to use it. Doesn’t have any CH benefits and doesn’t benefit to combos as well.
      If they can make it to where the opponent spins in the middle of the combo, that’d be cool.
