As a little kid who grew up in the 90's i loved this song.. Kids were the target audience for this song i guess. Hence it is what it is.

@ourstupidreactions, the main reason that makes this song weird to you is because the lyrics rhymes beautifully in Hindi and the subtitles don't. Also in India, having a choice especially during that time was extraordinary as we are raised around values of obedience where personal preference is not valued. So when someone says, meri marzi, they are breaking the norm.
