    I really love your approach to lighting. I see quite a few people blast their subject with a strobe, making it look just way too unnatural. Your approach makes the lighting more subtle and natural.

    Northern Alberta here: we have "low ambient" 6 months of the year. This video tutorial opened our eyes to a new way of approaching our after hours location sessions. Thank you, Kyle.

    Great video as always. You definitely make the most natural looking images when it comes to mixing natural light with strobes. And you have a great way of explaining it as well.

      Nothing special. I just leave it as auto and adjust in post if needed.

    Hy Kyle. How many stops of difference between the lit side of the face and the other one? Great job!

      I’m not sure. I just adjust the light till I get the look I want. For split lighting probably 2 stops or more. If I use Rembrandt lighting probably 1 to 2. There is no go to numbers. Whatever looks more natural.

    Your light stand seems to have three adjustable legs lenghtes for uneven ground. What is it? My solution for low-light OCF photograpyh is not using my 200 to 1200Ws strobes but an extra small speedlight with only 40Ws.

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes with adjustable legs. It’s from a local camera shop. As long as your strobe can shoot at very low level you are fine. But when it gets too dark, extra effort will be needed to balance your light with ambient.

    Great video as usual. The crazy thing is, I own a couple 1x4 strip lights and hardly ever use them. I will now. ✌🏾😎
