That video has been wildly popular over the years from aspiring artists, but at the same time it is also very dated.

Lol you can do it. It took me a long while before I got it to where it is today when it comes to quality.

@@Sterling20073 I did use a 12x12 slab of leather for this mask, but usually I use much bigger pieces.
Usually to make sure you have enough leather you’ll have to buy a 3 foot long peace.
If you’re just learning though you can get a 12x12 piece and learn off of that for a fairly cheap price.

Do you have to keep wetting the leather when your moulding it or does it stay mouldable for a while after the 2 minute soak? Looking at having a go at making one of these.
You do amazing work by the way.
It will stay moldable for a good hour or so. As it starts to slowly dry but stay damp is when I find it to be the best as opposed to when it’s super soaked at the beginning

This is great - thank you. I'm looking to make my own mask design but I wanted it to fit like this one; I didn't want a lucha mask to wrestle in. Do the paints have to be a specific type so they don't rub off into skin/a ring mat for example

You left out some very important information in your video how big is the leather cut where did you get your template and maybe a tutorial of how to draw that on the leather itself would be helpful for us trying to make the mask
I know I had to leave out a few things just cause the video was starting to get too long.
Template I had made for me years ago by someone and I just use it as a reference to make multiple masks with.
4/5 oz leather thickness is what I use but others like thinner or thicker. It’s all what you like really
