"Kennedy was the president when I was a kid" Dave was 2 years old when Kennedy was assassinated he must have some god-tier memory
Yeah convenient stretch of the truth there :P
The country was knocked out cold when Kennedy was killed. I’m Dave’s age. Kids saw adults weeping and heartbroken over it. It was in the news for years.
Well I was 9 when the assassination attempt on President Reagan occurred in 1981 (was turning 10 in November of that year). I was born in 1971 when Nixon was President and midway through the Vietnam War.
A google search could have also figured that out.
@@brents.8972you got any cool story’s about your life bro
I can listen to this album over and over and over.
Right!!!
But can you put a price on peas?
they should be proud of themselves, I would be if I was in Mustaine's position, they are such a great band, Megadeth forever 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Jack Brown yea!
And he surpasses metallica talent all around....
Im sure he’s pretty proud of himself.
@@tttarms1970 exactly my thought
I love how Dave Mustaine describes the inspiration for the album cover.
*My Last Words* was the song that made me a metalhead.. Such raw song, super sharp riff, face melting bassline from Jr
Pure metal bliss lml
THAT SOLO TOO - MAJESTIC. Just completely blew me away (and it's Mustaine's solo =) Not Poland).
@Mark 13 mary jane is my favorite megadeth song
Griever And don't forget that it has one of Dave's best solos!
Same to me. Period.
Dear God, when I heard the solo I fell in love with it... I haven't heard anything like that before. And the beautiful intro, the main riff... I feel like 'My Last Words' is underrated.
i remember being 7 years old, Im 39 now... this dude who lived in the same street as me was a hardcore 80s metalhead, long hair jean jacket ripped jeans.. i cant remember his name, but he was outside with his friends drinking beers and this album was blasting on his ghetto blaster lol. I can remember stopping in my tracks, watching them all headbang and air guitar, and me transfixed on those speakers listening to all that chaos. i was instantly hooked and asked my mom to buy me that record, and she did.
My last words best song
Carlos Calistro Whole album is sick.. Not a weak track on it.
@@lukenotskywalker2957 coff.. coff.. i ain't superstitious coff.. coff..
OrangeShadow I love I ain’t superstitious. Awesome cover, really displays all the jazz elements that really make the band unique.. Dave delivery on it is epic! It’s as good as These Boots very much in the same vein.. Changed lyrics, fits in with the bands category.
“Take your stupid superstitions,
And find some other paranoidal,
Chickenshit, sissy, worm, and, tell it to him.” 🤘🏻
@@lukenotskywalker2957 Don't get me wrong, i love Peace Sells in fact it's my favorite album, but i feel like i ain't superstitious doesn't belong in it, it has like a very different tone and mood than the other songs in the album
OrangeShadow It’s got the punk attitude in spades.. It’s the most Jazzy song on the album the others are Speed metal and the title track is Thrash.. The album has about 3 different styles enfused into it.
I was literally humming the song in work 2 days ago.. Like all their covers it’s better than the original.. I can’t listen to Peace Sells without listening to it in order.. All tracks. I don’t skip anything.. It’s all great. Can’t not listen to it after Bad Omen, I love how it goes from that song to the other as well.. The flow on the album is outstanding. KIMB doesn’t flow as well.. They kept that from start to finish quality until Risk/TWNAH and have now managed to get back to it again.. Dystopia is the first record since TSHF that I enjoy all the tracks and have no desire to skip songs.. UA, EG, 13, SC I find myself skipping songs on those albums..
The Best Thrash record that is not named Rust in Peace.
I totally agree. I wore the tapes out of those two Megadeth albums as they came out. I was 19 when Peace Sells came out. The Conjuring was killer. We tried to cover it in my band, but it was to hard for all of us to get it down tightly. We did Wake up Dead instead.
HAHA facts
I like Metallica's Ride the Lightning more than Peace Sells, but Rust in Peace to me is better than both.
@@GageHeibeck how dare u. Peace sells wins all day...
Artillery - Terror Squad is the best thrash album of all time
Dave is such a musical genius it’s just unreal.
His lyricism is something else, along with his other incredible musical skills.
Sometimes too goofy otherwise very fucking relevant
Wake up dead is just amazing 🤘❤
Short but intense. I love that song
That album is my favorite from Megadeth. Gar and Chris are fantastic and their participation in this is unic. I don't think Megadeth could revive that vibe again and that only makes the album more special. I just wish this video was longer so Dave could talk more about the construction of this...
Yes!!!
Hardest pick of all time.. Which is better.. Peace Sells or Rust in Peace.
... I can’t pick.
Rust in peace
Peace sells is better in my oppinion. Rust in peace was good but peace sells gives you that raw thrash metal rush.
Peace Sells has the edge over Rust In Peace in my opinion.
For me, Rust In Peace by far 🤘
No one is better is just a matter of taste. I prefer Peace sells because Poland solos and Gars drumming which I think is superior to Menza
Got it when it came out. Still the bands masterpiece.
Damn you old bruh. I be negative 10 when dis shii came out blood
You didn't just dodge a bullet Dave. This happens to be my fave album of all time. Everything just connects. Really. It is my fave guitar sound. It's my fave artwork. And they are collectively my fave songs. Amazing.
Dave Mustaine the best 🎸🎤🎶
Ok
He has balls, to get kicked out of a big band and come back with a huge punch if that where to happen to an artist today they would of killed themselves
*My idol, If someone ever asked me what 80's Metal was all about I would put this on for them. Mean, fast, heavy and on the edge, I wish it wasn't so short though.*
you should play bad omen/good mourning black friday again
He can't play bad omen anymore
@@MrCaptainSquibbles why not? Is it just too hard to play anymore? (Just curious)
@@oreoorange8451 No, It's because "bad omen" was made by "the satanic dave" xD and now he's christian
Drk Razagrek Dave played the conjuring earlier in 2018 and that song is really just one giant satanic ritual. He may have some considerations for the old PSBWB songs in the future
When I saw them earlier this year at grasspop they played the conjuring and my last words so why not
The dude speaks from the heart. So much respect for Dave, his music has always been a constant inspiration for me.
That was the first ever Megadeth album I heard, I was like 15 years old and just getting into Metallica and stuff.... I remember thinking (like I usually thought with new metal I'd hear) "seriously what the hell is this crap?" Especially Dave's vocals, sounded so weird to me, my 15 year-old brain didn't understand it at first. But I gave it a chance, mostly because my friends wouldn't shut up about it. After a few listens I was starting to hear the subtlety of the riffing, the talent of the solos, even Jr's Bass stuck out to me as unique for some reason. Then Dave's voice kind of grows on you and after Rust in Peace I couldn't even imagine Megadeth without Dave's signature voice. When I hear Megadeth covers they always sound off.
Anyways TLDR this album is amazing and way ahead of its time. It was like progressive metal before progressive metal was even a thing. RIP Gars, congratz Dave and Megadeth (all current and former members!) for creating such a great legacy!
same except i was 15 last year
Lamborghini Diablo SV 5150 😂😂😂 fkn good on ya kid 👍🤘
@Apprentice me too. Everyone was either on pop punk or ska or rap
...dont forguet after a cpl off years , the subtilese off woutanasia... (sorry about my english ).
Almost the same age I am. I think I was 13 or 14 when I got Peace Sells, my first and still favorite Deth album. Like you said, once you get used to Dave's voice, you can't imagine anything different. Say what you will about it, but it has a unique quality to it that can't be matched.
Peace sells...but who's buying?
You know I am!!!!
absolutely, when i need motivation or i feel scared i listen to megadeth, it helps a lot!
PSBWB - Perhaps the most intense thrash metal album ever. Although I love Rust in Peace the most, PSBWB is something that stats very powerfully, finishes very powerfully and is as powerful every second between the start and the end. 36 minutes of high-quality metal! It is no wonder that Lars Ulrich loves this album. KIMB is the angriest album I have ever heard but PSBWB is the album which destroys everyone who is on their way.
Killing is My Business is thrashier than Peace Sells. Especially the new 2018 mix.
@@Fireglo They both are amazing. KIMB was faster and angrier than PSBWB but PSBWB is the album when they started to sound at their best. Maybe the reason is the fact that they spent more money recording PSBWB. KIMB had a budget of 12 000 dollars and 1/3 of that amount they spent on drugs. PSBWB had a budget of 25 000 dollars, so they probably played the songs so many times they were eventually best quality.
LOL new kids today. Slayer will always shit on Megadeth. Reign in Blood kicks this in the ass.
@@wallywalpamur4960 Reign in Blood is a very good album, the songs are fast and simple. "Hell Awaits" is much better though.
@@Rekko82 I agree but you're not going to change the past with your opinion. I was there.
A Masterpiece by none other than the legend himself; Dave Mustaine. My brother met Dave once up close & personal. A Dublin show, he and some mates got a tip off where Dave & Co was staying where he paid top euro for pots of tea just to be allowed sit in the hotel foyer. The wait paid off however where the escalator doors opened and there he was, black bomber jacket, the black woolly hat, a smile that would light up the room and the flowing yellow locks. It was like the Messiah himself just walked into the room lol. Dave made time for his fans and to say my brother was very happy is an understatement. An absolute gentleman of the highest order is Dave. God bless man, good health & happiness for many years. Thank you for the music. Thank you for MEGADETH.
PEACE SELLS...BUT WHO'S BUYING? One of THE greatest metal discs of ALL time!!!
Rest In Power, drummer extraordinaire Gar Samuelson.
0:36 This dude is something else!
That is a cool mixing desk back there.
1:51 Some bands fail in their demos. My band is one of those.
Met him at a hockey game in Phoenix, Az. Awesome dude....
I like his beared it makes him look so intelligent ....I am so happy that ]V[EGADET]-[ is still alive and makes still bad ass music! 💪
I'm looking forward to the new album, Megadeth is love... Megadeth is Life❤
Dave you are arguably the single biggest influence on all of metal, and by extension every genre plus sub-genre it has spawned. One need not try to measure your impact, because it is found everywhere metal is found on this planet.
One of the luckiest days I had was when we heard on the radio that tickets for Alice Cooper's Constrictor tour ( WITH MEGADETH OPENING ! ) would be sold at an older venue instead of the usual large arena ticket office and we ended up 5th in line ! It was early in the release of Peace Sells . Early enough that Megadeth was still an opener and the only stage prop they had was a large canvas of the Peace Sells album cover at the back of the stage . We also heard that Megadeth would be signing autographs at this big record store ( yep , still had them then ) and we got a descent size promo poster autographed by the entire original band . Alice was great , Megadeth was incredible and the whole thing just went in our favor . We had 3rd row seats and my friend and I snuck in his camera ( I had the lens up my jacket sleeve ) and he took some of the best Alice and Megadeth photos I have ever seen . I had no idea he was so good at photography . Hey , even us average guys get lucky sometimes .... rrrright ! PK
AWESOME🤘🏻💪🏻 Incredible album, one of my favorites!
love when dave gives info about the albums
Absolutely incredible album:) I’m still picking apart the guitar on it. Amazing and inspired playing from such a young bunch of guys. Great lyrics too. I’ve been listening to this album for 30 years now and played it, if not every week, at least once a month. I’ve owned it on every format and have 3 versions of it on vinyl. Still a devastating piece of work that very few musicians in this world could even come close to.
Long live Dave The King! \m/ Can't wait for the new record!
Me too. Mustaine is God!
I have listened to peace sells two days in a row while working out. Yeah, keeps me motivated!
Peace and So Far are still my fav Mega albums.
First megadeth song I heard: I heard this crazy sound byte of a solo on an NFL Monday night intro in 2004, I searched it for 2 weeks until I found the world’s greatest solo: Bad Omen
Cool, I spent this afternoon listening to this album.
The Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, Texas... Megadeth with Rigor Mortis opening, Peace Sells tour I think 86...so much face melting that night!
ROCK IN RIO 2019 💚💛
Dave is an awesome guy. A friend of mine and I ran into him at SushiKo in Scottsdale, Az. He was sitting at the next table. We had a nice conversation and he bought us some Sake. Love the guy.
I remember when this album came out. I bought the cassette and couldn't get enough of it.
I am totaly in love with Good Mourning
Gotta say Peace Sells the song was a defining moment in my early teens
I just want to hear good mourning/black friday and devil's island or bad omen again in live
Jean WG i think he isnt doing Bad Omen because he is a Christian now Black Friday maybe ....Devils Island dont know man ....He is doing always the same Songs
He’s not doing bad omen for sure
Megadeth played ‘Bad Omen’, ‘Black Friday’ and ‘The Conjuring’ at Hellfest this year.
Wow ik he played black Friday and conjuring. I’m surprised he played bad omen, since he’s christian
@@jamesyellow3786 but if I remember correctly dave had mentioned that he considered plays the conjuring and some other of his first works as long as it does not affect anyone..
Masterpiece. Probably my favorite album of all time. Listened to it for almost 16 years straight.
Even though I first got into Megadeth after hearing 'In My Darkest Hour' the first album of theirs I bought was Peace Sells. I think it was the only one the record shop had in which left me no choice. It was on tape which shows you how long ago it was. Still, that tape got some serious playing during my teenage years. I honestly thought that metal music was going to change the world back in those days as well.
Peace Sells Changed my life, I just told my wife "When I Hear That Dave is Gone (cause the cancer), Im Sure Im Gonna Cry so Don't be Worried". He's someone I've Looked Up to Since 1985; We Love Ya Dave, Def one of my Hero's
He’s always got such intense points about the world , life & every thing he’s so freakin cool to listen to in interviews
I am making a essay about the album Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? And the song Peace Sells atm. This video really helps me out with understanding the meaning of the song except from what I personally can tell by listening to the song Peace Sells. Anyways have a great day human beings....
This is one of the best metal records ever to be released. Thank you Dave mustaine for writing this masterpiece and Rust in Peace. ;)
I love that song
Wake up Dead... My first and favorite song!!!
my last words , good mourning black Friday are untouchable, still floors me
The conjuring
!Obey¡
Sorry, i put the same title comentary...peace...
Obey
Bad Omen
Wow never noticed it before... Dave sounds just like Cory Feldman when he talks... anyone else?
Michael Cox same bottom lip
Corey Feldman - Seamless ft. Fred Durst
They both had Jewish mother's too believe it or not lol.
Such a great album came out at the right time sits on top with a lot thrash albums of that era
I agree with you Dave. Any musical artist's goal is to create music that their listeners can understand and connect with.
Megadeth my fav band growing up
I want it so much, keep em coming!
Mastermind...Classic Album!..greetings from KK Sabah,Malaysia🇲🇾🤘🏼🇲🇾🤘🏼
My first and favorite Megadeth album. Good Mourning/Black Friday will always be my favorite.
Got to see the very first tour of Megadeth...some of the best shows ever....pretty much played the entire album 'KILLING".
Some albums will forever be cherished...this is DEFINITELY one on that list
Just what a flawless record from a near flawless band.
My favorite album!! I picked up a Guitar and Bass especially from the intro to Peace Sells! 10 years later I still remember the first time! Thanks to Rockband as well lol
Is peace expensive? Cuz I want some
It depends on how do u sell it...
Ironically you have to buy it from yourself. Building your bank account not giving it all to corporate America because they use our money to buy WAR! Peace!!
Who's Selling?
You can buy it? Yes, but, Can you put a price?
Peace is not profitable... ask the NRA and the Banking Cartel about that.
Probably my favorite Megadeth song ever tbh, it's just amazing all around
Dave is soo chill
My fave Megadeth album and definitely one of the best metal albums ever. This is the album that I was introduced to thrash...
I have this on vinyl. From back in the day. I used to buy metal classics as used vinyls, because they were cheaper than cassettes.
Very interesting to see him list events that inspired his lyrics. Patti Smythe is a worthy influence.
The first time I heard a Megadeth song was when I was a baby. My dad played it in the car constantly. Stuff like holy wars. I’m growing up listening to the same music he did.
Peace Sells is one great album. I have two 1987 pressings of the album on CD. The 2009 remaster and 25th Anniversary CD and original 1986 vinyl record. Love this album one of my favorite Megadeth albums of all time!
I didn't want this interview to end!
I love the honesty of mr mustaine he tells it like it is hes honest n real thats why i love his band
dave mustache is one of the best guitarists of all time and is very right when he says that he wants other people to understand megadeth music, and not just him which i think is what’s best about the megadeth community and how it grew and became popular, he is an amazing song writer and that album was so unique along with the rest of them
Thank you megadeth for making the music you do and i’m only 13 now and i appreciate the effort you guys put in your songs and instruments. this community is so saturated with pop and rap it’s insane.
please keep up what your doing and try to influence other bands so that metal never dies
THANK YIU MEGADETH
One of the greatest albums ever!!!
Out of recent news about Dave's cancer I played this album today loud & proud🤘
Good mourning/Black Friday what a masterpiece
"PEACE SELLS... BUT WHO'S BUYIN'!?"
Me with $1 to my name:
Uh... not me, I guess...
"I'll buy that for a dollar!"
Legends, both Dave and the album
Pre ordering now!
like the best album ever
I was actually doing part of my upper body workout to Peace Sells. My first Megadeth album, and still my favorite. Slayer is the other band I do upper body workouts to.
MY FAVORITE MUSIC ALBUM EVER
Patty Smyth in Reader's Digest. Love it! My fave Megadeth album (though I was really impressed by Dystopia).
My favorite megadeth album
My first metal experience ever was Megadeth on Duck Dodgers. I would sit watching that show performance over and over. 15 years later and I’m still buying their records and discovering new things.
We saw them at a small club in Denver on Peace Sells tour in 86 with Overkill and Necros. Megadeth blew the roof of the place.
Best band
Nice profile pic
Megadeth's first masterpiece. Fast, Intense thrash, heavy, dark, groovy, technical. This album was state-of-the-art speed metal when it came out, and POLAND/GAR, YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING MONSTERS !!
I listen to Megedeth to get energetic before taking test. Works great.
one of the best albums and art covers ......ever..........
Megadeth. Rocks
They were amazing when I was in high school. First couple albums
I LOVE THAT ALBUM!!!!!! Total Perfection!!
My favorite Megadeth album!!!!
Dave , when I discovered peace sells at 14 it changed the way I saw music 🤘 still a very proud megadeth fan 🤘
That album remains my all time favorite of Megadeth....The 80s were a blast when it came to metal . Kegs and partys in the parking lots at concerts...the best of the best of metal.. Fun times. Every young adult should have been able to experience the 80s- no matter what genre....everything seemed carefree
I've got this original vinyl from 80's still in the shelf. And there it stay.
