  • There are a lot of factors that go into how long it will take for a particular piece of content to rank, but we analyzed a dozen different websites for this video and determined some general guidelines as to how long it will take to get traffic from Google from SEO.
    When you're ready to start your website, go to incomeschool.c... Project 24 is our premium course where we walk you step-by-step through the process of creating a profitable website. Project 24 means starting work on websites today to get to the point where you can replace your income with passive income from websites within 24 months.

The trademark “Project 24” refers to the goal of some people to create a successful business in 24 months, but is not a promise or guarantee of that success. I found myself caring about traffic and money when I first started, but having money be your only motivation is not a great reason for creating sites. It's the subject matter. You've really got to love what you're writing about and just focus on providing value to people. The money will come.

    Hi Jim and Ricky,
    First of all, I am your huuuge fan. I have been binge-watching your videos since I got to know about this channel. I seriously fell in love with your videos. I got inspiration and started my own micro-niche site. too. I followed your advise and wrote a response post and then a staple post. And, you were correct, the response post is amazing. It took a lot less time and brought in tons of traffic. When I first published it on my website, Google instantly ranked in #14. I have only 2 posts till now and I am writing the third one.
    My website is just 10 days old and I am getting benefit from your advice. I am a school-going student from India (14 yr old). I am blogging in tech niche but still seeing the results. When I start earning from my blog, I will surely purchase your project 24 course.

    Every video is a gem. I like how you guys seem to find out what people want to know the answer to the most and then address it.
    Videos like these definitely help put things back into perspective and give hope to the people who may want to quit or have just lost all motivation to keep going due to the time it takes to rank or see any desired result.
    On behalf of all of the people struggling out there, I want to give you guys a big thank you for actually caring about the members and taking time out to provide exactly what we need.

    Man I seriously never even thought of that... I always thought that the keywords you target are the keywords you get, and it would only be little random keywords that get thrown into the mix. That gives me motivation for the articles I wrote that I quickly ranked #1 for on the keywords I targeted, but didn't bring in the traffic I expected.
    BTW, I found myself fascinated by that light reflected on your face. I was waiting for it to hit your eye, and was hoping for a major squint, but you were too determined and focused. Your constitution impresses me, my friend.

    I can corroborate the 35 weeks with at least one article I've written, and it's the most-viewed article on my site. I wrote it in March 2017 and the pageviews gradually kept climbing all the way to October 2017. Then in November, it spiked from about 375 pageviews per week to nearly 800. Since then, it's been in the range of 500-750 pageview per week. So, from March 2017 to November 2017 (around 36 weeks give or take), the traffic grew and then leveled off.

      I have a lot of experience with this. If you can add content and actually improve the user experience of a certain webpage, it usually has a much faster effect than producing an entirely new article. I performed major updates to my company's top 25 pages. The page improvements ranged from 50% to 465% in 2-3 month time periods. Mind you, these were major upgrades to pages that were already doing well. Going from 500 words to over 1,200, adding images and cleaner backlink profiles, adding keywords to blank alt tags, etc.

I would like to focus on the german market, but I'm guessing that there will be a lot less possible traffic, compared to the huge amount of english speakers. Also the tools and places you're suggesting for hiring writers, creating logos, even the community to check a new blog, ideas and such ... would project24 be also a helpful resource for people like myself, wanting to try this in another language and country? Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

      Good question. We actually have more customers outside the US than inside the US, so I’m sure you’d be fine. The only real difference in making a specific language site other than US is that you should target a much larger topic to get sufficient traffic since there will be less competition.

    Hello guys, an important question that I bet a lot of people watching has to: is this 7 to 9 months until the traffic starts increasing, or to get any traffic at all from Google? For example, I have a website where I have about 15 articles in long-form format, and google hasn't sent any traffic at all, no clicks and the articles are all crawled but not indexed, status excluded. Is this normal? Its a website about how to create online courses, so there is a component of how to make money online on it. It's all benign information.

    Very interesting video. I think a lot of new affiliates hear people talk about having keywords rank in 3 months or so. It is nice to have someone tell the truth about what really happens so that new affiliates know that they are in this for the long haul.

      That is correct. The average was around 35 weeks to get to 90% of the monthly traffic you'll probably ever see on that post. So if it's a 1,000 pageview per month article then you'll be at about 900 in 35 weeks on average.

    I have a blog that is of an old domain with Dr 27 as well as have 88 articles that is two month old. I have 56 keywords ranked with less than 50 page views per month and my query is how long will it take to get ranked and start to make traffic with an expired domain.

    So how long should you expect to at least find your site on Google? I've got a niche blog (wix) only two-three weeks old, and I put a lot of work into design, seo and content. But key words search doesn't make my site found at all it seems. And the niche is pretty tiny...

    Hey, I have a question hopefully you guys can answer. When I am writing my blogs I like to write a lot of information on whatever it is I am talking about and slip some affiliate links in. Should I not try to monetize all of my blog posts? Or should I find a way to make money with all of my posts?

  • @travelgearessentials9551

    Quick question. How do you track your posts ranking? Do you use a service? Or do you look at Google analytics?

    • @IncomeSchool
      @IncomeSchool  Před 6 lety +1

      You can try googling the topic for your article and see where it ranks. Just make sure you're not logged into Google when you do it so you can get an accurate representation of where your article sits.

    Thoughts on a personal blog with a mixture of content? I play college soccer and study computer science. I make videos and write blog posts about both college soccer and technology (mostly software). My website essentially serves as my portfolio. Will this index as well as a niche site and is this a decent approach to building a business around a website?

    As a botanist I can say that, at least in shorter growing seasons, that one week can make a huge difference. It can be the difference between getting 2 cuts of hay, or sneaking in that third. I get what you mean though, I just know too much about plants lol

    Never knew it took so long. Gratifying to know you don't need to bother with link building - personally I'd rather cut off my balls with a rusty spoon than partake in all that malarkey.

    Hello Jim, is it still around 35 weeks if you don't see any specific keywords for that article in your Google Console? Some articles produce the keywords straight away, and some don't. Does it mean these articles will not rank ?

    • @ouncegold9724
      @ouncegold9724 Před 6 lety

      I think hes suggesting that the 35 weeks is like a ballpark figure, some may rank sooner and others take a LONG time. May just be that your articles that aren't doing so well as others will just take a bit longer..Stick with it and take some pride that some of your articles are ranking, I'm sure your other articles will pick up in time.
      My "good" articles are roughly in the 3rd/4th page or higher, so far I'm stoked that they're even getting there and getting traffic...albeit tiny amounts just now.

    • @s.e.5957
      @s.e.5957 Před 6 lety

      Thanks for your reply. But that’s the thing - if you look at your console, articles that trigger different keywords rank better and faster. I have many articles that don’t have any associated keywords in the console. I just want to know if it’s connected and to which extent. :)

    • @ouncegold9724
      @ouncegold9724 Před 6 lety

      How old are those articles? Its taken mine about a month or two to get to where they are at, some have the keyword that I selected and some have similar keywords as well.

  • @thanesbusiness5001
    @thanesbusiness5001 Před 6 lety

    so it's worthwhile to link build to get higher, not faster rankings depending on how it's done. i know you're generally against link building. also seed analogy, it's worthwhile to water the plant by gradually extending the article if you can, or let me know if that is bad. I have a disability and type very slow and have started expanding articles, i think that would hellohelp.

    • @ouncegold9724
      @ouncegold9724 Před 6 lety

      Personally I would concentrate on just getting the articles posted, let it do its thing for a while and keep writing articles using Jim and Ricky's techniques to find good content to write about.
      Then when they start to get good amounts of traffic you could think about building links if you wish, its your site, just dont do bad link building.
      I've been sending traffic to my articles using twitter and some reddit posts (non spammy) which helps to get views and links...which wont do any harm. Also just started turning articles into youtube videos which I hope to get more traffic from.
      Also started doing outreach for a round up post which has been getting me positive results, once that post is up the other contributors will no doubt link to the post which is going to give good backlinks...but its more about the content than the links for me.
      Make good content, leave it for a few months and google will figure out where you should be, content is king!
      Hope that helps.

    Linking will rank faster but not forever. Soon Google sees linking is manual (don't know how) but then rankings just drop.

    What different recommendations would you make for someone who wants to start an authority site from scratch? My blog is 2 months old and I have 18 articles.

  • @amerohits

    Yes... the first page does not matter for getting traffic according to my website.
    I have a websites that Two of the post gets ## Rank no.1 in google search for this specific keyword after three month.
    But didn't get too many visitor. Soon I found out that after one more month it was getting many visitor to those pages. The secret was Google was taking those post on another keyword. Those page was ranking as on first or second or third page as similar keyword or question too.
    Eventually Now those page is getting more traffic like you said on the video about JSON search term. Now I believe it after watching this Video. Thank you to do research like this.
