This is one of the best western movies ever made in my opinion. With some of the best acting ever. Enough to bring a grown man to tears at the end. One of a kind, can’t miss western if you like westerns. Lance Henriksen was born for this role.
That gunfight at the end was once of the most realistic I've ever seen in a western. The tack used, along with the proper guns and holsters with the way they were actually worn, high on the hip with none of these silly drop loop tied down rigs, was a joy to behold. This was very, very well done.
A very gripping story for a western .Real men lived with guts , fantastic portrayal of Frank Morgan by superb Lance Hendrickson . Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks very much.
A really excellent low budget film. Better than many large budget films with unrealistic stunts and action. A down to earth, possibility of based on reality in our western history, even though it really isn't anything but a good western drama. God bless all whom reads and families eternally. I thought I'd seen every good Western in my 62 years. This is the first time seeing this one. It ranks up there with every great Western I've seen. It had a little High Plains Drifter, Pale Rider and Shane mixed plot. Outstanding Western

Excellent add was the gutless politicians coming out at the end to take credit for the work of someone else. They would have turned the prisoner loose and begged for mercy. Kind of like the same ones we have in office today.. Well done.
Always liked Lance's acting style. He provided a real presence to every role, a valuable attribute most actors these days haven't even heard of. Good movie.

A well paced action western,Lance a convincing gunman,& the supporting cast were very good,it was beautiful y shot in an excellent location all in all a good classic western.
LANCE is a powerful actor, reminds me of gary oldham,both of them get no respect from critics or otherwise,LANCE was killer in the alien movies as the synthetic organism,he can carry the whole movie
Finally, a Lance Henriksen movie that fits his looks, demeanor, and acting capabilities. When you look at Henriksen's face, you could easily feel like your looking in to the face of death. What I admire most is that he could've easily caved to the political Hollywood BS and had a top acting career. He doesn't play that kind of crap and he became the "blue collar man's" actor. An awesome movie ! !

The first half of the movie was kind of cheesy and predictable, the second half the storyline got good and well written and the acting got better and the end was a tearjerker, it was a wonderful surprise.

Hmmh...Movie got off to a slow start but ended up being one of the better western's i've seen....Spud seemed 'ta be a larger than life character 'an I thought he was gonna' be a fatality....nice 'ta see hot dude Spud didn't get shot or any of the family....I found this movie quite entertaining and worth the time spent watching.....

Surprisingly good. The music is cheap and cheesy, like a TV mini-series, and the plot is familiar, but Henriksen is good, and it's well done.

I almost quit watching as it was moving a little too slow for me and then, KAY LENZ made an appearance! One of the most beautiful women in the world.

one major flaw; the town backed Jordan when Frank grabbed the girl, but chickened out when Walt came to town; great movie still...
