I have looked for a program/application like this one for a long time and I was getting really frustrated because I wasn’t getting anywhere but then I came across your video and I decided to try it and it worked… thanks a lot man
God bless you man, ive been trying to help my uncle do this for an hour before I found your video! Excellent tutorial, spoke clearly and showed exactly what to do. I appreciate you sir!
This should be the default video for this task. Can't thank you enough as I've been trying for days with my new Droid! Good man and great video, well explained - even I accomplished the task!
Agreed, for some reason my old MacDroid app didn't work anymore, and all other Apps asked for ALL sorts of info, and defaulted to iCloud gallery - that I don't use. Finally something that just work - hurraaaaah
I spent about 90 minutes attempting transfers using Apps. not mentioned here; they both transferred files (usually) but finding them was the issue i.e. having shut down the receiving App. and with no option presented to save them; they weren't in the Files so it was a bizarre situation. AirDroid with the req't for a cable seemed antiquated but in light of the security element mentioned here - it makes sense
huge thanks for doing this video, the Air Drop app worked really well between my phone and my mac. I always have issues getting Android file transfer to work, so this is a huge help!
Thanks for your informative vlog. The Android File Transfer app didn't work for me and I was getting this error "Could not connect to device". Later on I tried the other AirDroid app and it worked really nicely. I am glad that I came here and now I have subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work! 👏
Thanks mate. I had problems connecting via the Android File Transfer app too but if you can get it working it’s very useful. AirDroid is good too but feels a bit less secure. I mainly do Apple stuff now and steer clear of Android but hopefully you’ll still find my videos useful. 👍
Hi Srayan, good question. I’m hesitant to say it’s fine. It’s free from an unknown developer and, as far as I know, not open source - which is not ideal. It also has a lot of different features that I have not tested. On the plus side it’s been approved to be on the Android App Store, whether that means anything, and the connection you make between it and your Mac is over the local network. However it does require permission to access your files, so I would only allow the permission whilst using it. If you’re very concerned, you can’t go wrong with the cable option. 👍
Everything worked great but when I opened the edited video file on my phone, it had white noise and no video. Weird because it has the thumbnail and exact length of the edited video
Thank you for your tutorial. But have you all noticed how primitive it still is to transfer files compared to other tasks in 2022? I mean, this android app doesn't even have a square picture preview so you can know what you are transfering. So the best way is to choose the files by date and drag all of them, and then when transfered you can delete all the files that you don't need.
The android file transfer has a max of 4gb file which doesn't help me. I have a 46gb video that's an hour and a half long.. I can't find anyway to get it from my phone to my macbook. Does anybody have some advice?
Thanks for the useful video, do you know if there are any setting we could make the file got preview in the File Transfer? As I want to move some of the photos and videos to computer instead of all files, I don't know which file I'm moving since it displays the file name only.
May I know where and how to find my deleted files after the transfer? cannot find the files neither on my phone trash can nor my portable hard drive(I transfer files from my phone to my hard drive)
If only it was that simple with Android File Transfer. The mac brings up a modal dialog saying OK (preventing you from using the file dialog), and the Android brings up a dialog saying "Allow access?". Which ever one you click first the other one goes off in a huff and disconnects, so you have to press both on mac and android at same time, spamming the dialog buttons until it accepts that yes, you want to connect the cable at both ends.
I’m considering an android phone. I have a multi memory card adapter that I use for my camera pics… why can’t the files just be transferred on/off memory cards this way?
Will android file transfer work with a microSD card? I would need to transfer the files directly onto the card as opposed to the phones internal storage.
A fine video, but no transfer. I have tried connecting and it doesn't seem to work. I have tried several times restarting the computer and connecting the USB cable. I have tried several USB cables. No luck so far.
Well, I downloaded the android transfer app but when I open my camera folder it freezes and crashes. Kind of useless. Don't know why Apple doesn't just allow you to plug in your phone
thank you so much! Do you have any videos explaining how to transfer sms texts from android to iphone? I have spent hours trying to figure it out with no luck
Hi Luis, glad you liked the video, thank you. I don’t think you can transfer WhatsApp chats using the tool. I think you’re better off using the WhatsApp backup tool to keep a copy of your messages and WhatsApp Web to chat on your computer.
I've used airdroid to send files between my old andriod tablet (cello running android 4.4.2) & and my old mac (2009 Imac running mojave) neither of which can be updated, which is fine, but is there a way I can get the android tablet to access a USB hard drive connected to the imac (drive is set to be shared over the network and both are on the same network. what I'd like to do is put the android tablet in the kitchen and access a folder on the USB drive on the Imac where I store recipes (or occasional cooking videos) and would save me having to fill up the tablet by sending everything over to it or remembering to send the files before I go to start cooking thanks
Unfortunately no longer works...
As someone who prefers Mac OS for music production, but prefers Samsung Galaxy series phones, this video is much appreciated.
Glad you found it useful and thanks for taking the time to say so. 👍
This comment hits home!!!!!

100% worked.. Thanks!
Once your done with transferring how do you close the thing on you laptop? Or does it go on it own?
Does this also work for things in the photos app to Mac? (Instead of from files to finder)
The android file transfer has a max of 4gb file which doesn't help me. I have a 46gb video that's an hour and a half long.. I can't find anyway to get it from my phone to my macbook. Does anybody have some advice?

Question. My installation of android file transfer app on Mac failed. how to overcome this? Please help.
So you can't view the file straightaway? You have to move the file to your Mac first to view it?
Will android file transfer work with a microSD card? I would need to transfer the files directly onto the card as opposed to the phones internal storage.

Well, I downloaded the android transfer app but when I open my camera folder it freezes and crashes. Kind of useless. Don't know why Apple doesn't just allow you to plug in your phone

For airdroid, after entering the IP address on safari, it doesnt send message to my mobile. How to correct this.
No mention of FTP methods for wireless file sharing/transferring, or not within the scope of the video?
thank you so much! Do you have any videos explaining how to transfer sms texts from android to iphone? I have spent hours trying to figure it out with no luck

Another reason I hate One UI... appears almost impossible to tx files via USB. I'm heading back to apple.
Does this work with your iTunes music to android or no?

I tried Airdroid, but it asks for a credit card and says it doesn't charge and is free. But, it wouldn't take two major credit cards I tired.
