Taking time each evening to smoke a pipe has given me some dedicated time for prayer and gratitude.

i think i chose to be a pipe smoker at age 50, what most would say is 49, but i lived my 50 year smoking a pipe. i got hurt just 3 months after i started. it became the only hobby i could physically do every day. it started to be a 10 bowls a day hobby as i just wanted to learn how to pack, light and smoke with the fewest lights during the bowl. i am glad that i had that time and it has made an important part of my life now, as i use it to stop life and remember myself of what i enjoy. i disappoint myself when i would not bring my tobacco pouch with me. So i also got into cigar smoking with cigarillos and then to regular cigars. i disliked cigars 20 years ago, because i was a cigarette smoker and did not understand not inhaling. anyways, i enjoy a bowl each morning when walking the beach like coffee. i enjoy walking my next door neighbors dog and have a pipe. it replaced what i loved about smoking cigarettes with out the health issue mostly. i enjoy the hobby and would like it to stay with me for a long while, as it is in my brain as something that healed me during my worst of times.
A great story! And I do believe that tobacco has healing properties...physical, mental and spiritual....
Anyway, I knew a guy that started with H when he was 50...ten years later and he is no more...it just came to my mind when you wrote 'started at 50'. 🤔 Anyhow, enjoy your smokes at the beach with the dog! Wonderfull! ✌😎💨💨🦮

Thank you! Yes, that is definitely a important part of it! Even if the world is changing we stick to this tiny part of a traditional lifestyle maybe.

In our pubs you often have such encounters...a reason why I am not out that often anymore...😉 the second encounter was great though! Real life pipe community! 🙂👍

@@brianquilty687 Hi Brian! It is the same here too! And zhe smoking ban caused a lot of harm! Many bars & pubs closed down...but some did find a solution 🤫🤫🤫

I don't think I can answer the lifestyle question just yet because I'm still new to pipe smoking. But I can relate to some of the situations you explained, and for me my behavior is changing I think mostly due to aging. Having said that, I can tell you with certainty that since pipe smoking I am in fact happier with the pipe.😊💨💨
Yes, maybe it is just the aging...when you have seen people pass; when you see your kods growung up; when you get a broader picture of the things happening around you, it changes one's view on what is important and what to fight for I guess. On zhe other hand I knew grewn up man that still behave like teenagers. I don't know 🤷🏼♂️

I do believe there is a pipe smoking way of life. Im still learning this way as Im a year into this journey. I’m enjoying learning from others who are living a pipe smokers way of life and enjoying the encounter and journey itself. I would have to sit with these thoughts a little more, but I choose to do so with a pipe because I find it agreeable and worthwhile.😊

Hello Andrea! Wow, but I don't think it is that old...a few years ago I saw similar pipes at some german webshops. It is a three piece pipe with 9mm drilling...very cool design and I like it a lot! 😎👍

👋🏻, the tobacco shop sounds awesome! Pipe smoking has given me a sense of peace, I find myself even when walking my dog down the dirt road stopping and looking across the field just taking in God’s creation. The hot humid air turns to a nice breeze and I just stand with a sense of peace. I think pipe smoking gives those who enjoy it a common ground and generally gives the impression that’s a thinking man, or woman (Rose)😊. Have a great day!

Pipe smokers are as varied as mankind, so a pipe smoker’s way of life? No. Just in our online community we have some who smoke 1-2 bowls a week and others who have a dozen a day. The only thing we all have in common is the enjoyment of pipes.
@@ParsimoniousPiper Hello Eathen! Yes, I habe met many different kinds of pipe smokers. But those who dig a bit deeper and are a bit more dedicated to the hobby often develop certain traits...maybe...or maybe not 😅 all the best!

@@BrutalEnough I had a bumper sticker that said radically saved and my business sign had a Bible scripture on it. I wasn't as militant as I have been in the recent past and now I'm becoming more skeptical of our popular political leader here. Being shoot that close to the head and it working in people's minds as if he was so close to a fatal shoot to the head I'm growing quite skeptical because I know one spoken of in Revelations that has a fatal wound to the head but lives. It's healthy cynicism.
Do we know what calibre was used? it is very strange that the public gets so little information on the shooter and all involved, isn't it? Still I think he will be the better president but he surely is no saviour or saint! 😉
Once I was asked what I put on my pipe. OMG the guys thought I was smoking weed . From rime ti time I get stupid questions, but I just ignore stupidity, it's not worth my time.

Chris, I love that pipe you have, what kind of pipe is that and where can I get one? To me I have been smoking a pipe for 55 years, my father also had always smoked a pipe and his father also smoked a pipe, Smoking a pipe has always been a part of my life. Ed
@@armchairpiper Hello Ed! I just smoke pipe for ten years but my father is a pipe smoker too and my granddads were also pipe smokers! The pipe is a mastro de Paja; it consists of three parts and fits a 9mm filter. Could be smoked without the stem extension as well. I found it in a drawer at a local store...but maybe keep eyeing the usual retailers for Mastro de Paja pipes; they sometimes have similar pipes!
