-the Android version of the mobile port was updated a week before the book release, and someone has already put the files on the Reddit and found an image of a brown wall: no such brown wall/building exists in the game
-New Harmony has a post office on a corner, it’s a 15 minute drive from Cedar City, is speculated to be where Charlie went to school, and is north of Hurricane City, which is where Silver Eyes took place
-most of the FNAF games have likely taken place in Utah due to the location of the lawsuits
-the ARG may have been cut because of the pandemic

The shark story seems to be based on Rosie the shark. A preserves shark that was left behind in an sea life center and rediscovered by urban explorers still floating around its tank in now dirty green water, found when it's shadow was cast against the side of the tank.

As a big ol' nerd I have to say the weird lore mysteries is what has me caring about any of this. Most hidden stuff in most things is so surface level that it's found in minutes, but FNAF has a legion of dorks going for years.

The fact that they are described as "scrapped stories" is really suspicious to me. As MatPat said, it's weird that they would be "scrapped", but still appear like normal. My first thought is that the books actually exist in the fnaf universe. I'm not saying that the stories are canon, but that the books themselves exist in the fnaf universe. Perhaps the stories from book 12 were things that Fazbear Entertainment didn't want the public thinking about. I don't know how plausible this idea is, but it might be worth considering.

You know that would make sense, the directly mentioned Mike from the games along with an ACTUAL fnaf game so this book seems more connected than a lot of the other books plus it's cannon that fnaf horror games exist in universe so a goosebumps like horror book series isn't that far of a stretch

In the books, games, and In this video an "odor" is mentioned. Mike/Micheal getting fired from every job due to an "odor" as well as when the girl went on a hunt and found the missing kid she specifically mentions an "odor" or "Smell" coming from the suit the child was hiding in.

I think the reason why we're being stumped like this when it comes to FNAF was the fact that SB was delayed waaay too much that the books came out first.
It may not seem much, but considering our thought processes during this whole shabang was we have the current new evidence (the games as they are released, or in much simpler terms piece 1) and from there pieces 2-nth would be given to us as we progress.
But with SB, we were given Piece 2, not Piece 1, and that simple change in our formula was rocked so much that it's hard to see perspectives to create a coherent theory to piece things up
Added the fact that the lore is quite dodgy and at times really obscure didn't help our confusion either
But yeah, that's my take on this lmao

I read Felix The Shark awhile ago and I remember the “flowers and butterflies” drawings very oddly dropped in the story. Like what was the point? However after digging in my FNAF notes journal (yes I have one, I’m a nerd) I saw that I noted Vanessa from Security Breach liked flowers from the cassettes. This may be a meaningless dead end but it was odd to me that both of these pieces of FNAF media mention “flowers” and the book written in Felix The Shark was written by the daughter of someone connected to Freddy Fazbear’s. I know it’s a stretch but could this be hinting to Vanessa being one of the children or at the very least connected to Henry/William? Just something to think about.
that is interesting because from silver eyes and sister location Afton and Henry work on animatronics so there can be some connection here

You've perfectly put into words my feelings on the subject. I like FNAF being this weird crazy thing that doesn't make too much sense, because the main story's no longer the important thing anymore.
It's the community- always has been. The music, the art, animations, Analog Horror series; it feels like we're really part of something, and FNAF's just the medium for that energy.
We know too much, we've been here too long, we're in it for the long haul.

I have a theory that the reason there's no Book Theory is because Matpat isn't emotionally prepared to have two channels with FNAF at the forefront.
I have been watching this FNAF series for years now, I remember being so tied up in the lore when I was a kid. Crazy how longs its been since the first game to now.

Fun fact: Utah is the setting for all 3 orignal FNAF novels, if this is an ARG, you should start in Utah.
Edit: in the second FNAF book, "The twisted ones" there is a reference to a cinema, two of the main characters go on a date there.
I feel like a disclaimer is necessary to not repeat what the fandom has done in the past of calling REAL phone numbers or visiting real locations unless there is more solid confirmation about an in-person ARG. This could totally be intended as an online thing, or something not spanning multiple locations such as a post office!

The main thing that’s bothering me more than anything about this ARG is what’s the end point. Every ARG has a clear ending you’ve got to figure out. The Wilbur ARG was all about figuring out what Wilbur did. The Bill Cypher Hunt that Matt Pat mentioned in this video was all about finding Bill.
So here’s my question what is the ARG about? What are we looking for? Is there anything even hinting towards an ARG outside of this book? Right now it feels like a scraped ARG, which is why this story was scrapped originally.
That’s the catch: THERE IS NO ARG
The box maybe? (I should maybe clarify that I’m talking about the possibility of finding the fnaf 4 box as a result of solving the “arg”. If it’s not scrapped and very much real. Logan’s point still stands though :) 👍 )
@@alien.astronaut but that’s the problem ARG’s start at the ending and we find out clues to make sense of it. The entire Cypher Hunt’s final clue was in the original photo depicting the Cypher Hunt began. Wilbur started off saying he did something wrong and was on the run.
“FNAF’s ARG” started with animatronic Shark and what does that solve for the lore.

You said how in both the bill cypher and wilbur arg there were things that linked back to the start. Basing off of how gravity falls had their arg, maybe its going back further than the books, maybe it goes past the box back to the place it all began, Fredbears family diner. That was a joke but in all serious maybe the final end to the arg is a real life poster for Fred bears family diner, idk tho

Hey I know I'm late but I had to tell someone this. I didn't find a theatre by the Utah post office. However, I did find a few old buildings around it. Looks like they've been abandoned. I also did find a building that is LITTERLY called *MEGAPLEX* that is a bit far from the post office and it is indeed a theatre.
I'm fully convinced there is never a FNAF plan. They toss random stuff out there and pick theories from the internet that sound the best and then say that was the plan.

Speaking of that location, anyone know where the actual building is? Seems like it would be a great place to hide some sort of clue for anyone who’s been following this series from the beginning
Edit: after seeing some thoughts on this theory on both the FNaF and Game Theory subreddit this doesn’t seem like the best idea. Sure going thru game files or the coloring book didn’t hurt anyone but actually going to an IRL location could have some negative consequences especially if they’re not tied to FNaF in any way

Have you ever realized that Sun is like Freddy in ways? They have emotions and fears. Moon on the other hand is corrupted by Glitchtrap. We know from the Leaving ending that there are missing children from the Pizza Plex in Security Breach. What if two of the kids were twins? Maybe put into Sun and Moon?
I think the reason these stories were scrapped is because they were originally supposed to be released in 2020 and THEN the ARG would begin but the pandemic happened so they're coming out now.

I feel an overwelming sense of nostalgia hearing you talk about Gravity Falls. The Cipher Hunt was my first encounter with ARGs and truly inspired my love for them. I think... Oh no... I think... you've convinced me to finally read the fnaf books so I can join in on the clue search O_O

@@0kumurhuh I'd agree, save for stuff like FNAF AR, him referencing physical games in the series, or the fact that in Help Wanted, the canonical lore is that FNAF exists within the universe in some capacity. The line seems too blurry to be sure, imo.

I think Matt Pat is on the right track when he mentions the Gravity Falls hunt. When the books came out and had all of this random stuff, nobody understood. But once it was explained that is was a treasure hunt, the clues made sense. I think this is EXACTLY what Scott and Steel Wools Studios are doing, and they know it.
Maybe once the new DLC for Security Breach comes out there will be something?

Coming back from some more recent fnaf videos,
the "even more frights" might have been a reference to the occasional voice lines of the Mediocre Melodies, trying to tell you that there are more jumpscares to find than just the regular one for them
The colouring books make me wonder how you could hide something within the pages. An idea I had was perhaps there are white plastic lines within where you colour in on the paper and when you do it reveals something. Either that or you need to colour in exactly where the lines are and it reveals something that way. Honestly wouldn't surprise me if what's revealed is what appears to be some weird letters which make sense when looked at in a mirror. You would have to feel on each page to check if I'm onto something, but it's all I got right now.

I'd just like to point something out in the "you're the band" story he placed the Freddy head back on to the animatronic. This could explain the mysterious hand print on Freddy's face in the early games.

the Summer Merch Release really lining up with the vibe of this video lol. Made the Gravity Falls connection to, I love how the theme of the finale was to go out into the world and explore and discover and the thing right after the show was literally to do just that! But for this I think they are (or were) going for a creepy "you never know what's real" kind of thing. You can see that with the VR stuff as well.

It's possible Scott planned for the ARG to launch in early 2020 but had to scrap it after the 'Rona hit. To my knowledge, worldwide quarantine and treasure hunts aren't really sympatico.

I dont know if you have already found this, nor if it is decor, but in some of the books next to the chapter title and first letter of the chapter there are some SMALL and I mean SMALL random letters, and me and my friend found foot prints, a ghost ( We think) And something else, on the pages VERY faded, we tryed so hard to see if it was decor or not, we got SO tired of looked back and forth in the books, I think it had to do with Elizabeth, Michael, and the crying child.

I'm kind of dissapointed with how the fnaf lore has been treated lately. It seems so impossible to solve and every new game answers questions but leaves an unfair amount of plot holes that will never be solved until you wait for the next game release. It's unsatisfying if you're this stumped with this many mysteries.

The Butterfly drawings made me think of Baden Powells Butterfly drawings that were secretly maps during WW1. He hid the layout of enemy bases in the spots on the wings.
Maybe the FNAF coloring book drawings are maps done the way Baden Powel would make one. Bigger ink blotches and odd lines representing roads and buildings and such.

The story with Timmy is relating to fnaf 2 in suspicious ways. First, one of the main game mechanics of fnaf 2 is the Freddy mask, which directly relates to this story. Second, fnaf 2 starts with a scene where you're on the fnaf 1 stage in the same position as Freddy was, giving me the idea that when we put on the mask we are possessed by the child and we see the same thing they had to go through every day, not to mention the fact that Timmy gets up on the stage in the story and acts like Freddy.
That would explain the vision sequences. The first one seems normal, the second one Bonnie and Chika look at you concerned ( Foxy or Fred bear may have been stuffed too) and then in the third one the puppet appears just before the 'give gifts give life minigame where the puppet beings them to life to haunt the pizzeria.
Then you get the dismantling scenes from FNAF 3, then the FNAF 2 game itself.

have a theory about golden Freddy, in the first fnaf game, and how I think that he may be phone guy. Now before you think that this comment is crazy I would like you to read this entire comment and think about it long and hard. Like how you compared the fnaf missing children's incident to the Chucky cheese shooting incident that took place in 1993 and how you compared Golden Freddy to Bobby. I think that what is in golden Freddy's, suit is phone guy, because like he suggested to you, he went limp. and the small white dots in golden Freddy's eye's are the whits parts in phone guy's eye's. Just like Bobby, phone guy survived, and the "it's me" is him telling you that "It's me, phone guy" and he is the only one that does not give you the death screen he crashes the game in stead he crashes your game as if saying "save your self while you still can." And when he was "Killed" he was put in the golden Freddy suit in the kitchen and survived.
But that is just my theory that I wanted to share
