That why in the "Ghostly Adventures" he help Pac rather than bully him.
6:40 not many people noticed, but Clyde’s line here I think is a reference to the intro screen in Pac Man’s 1980 Game, when listing the ghosts it says

Bashful - Inky
Pokey - Clyde
I don’t know if it means anything but it’s just a theory I have.

This also came two years before Pac-Land, and that game's OST is somewhat based on this cartoon's score

A couple of things are different from the game. When the ghosts chomp a Pac character they don't die they just get weak. And Pac-Man doesn't have to eat the big power pellets to go after the ghosts.
