Same here, and It's annoying. Even if your team is losing or even if you're the whipping boy. Take the L and keep moving maybe you can turn the game around. I've been in games where it was late and we were getting killed. And we were able to turn it around and win. And I'm effectively trash at this game currently. But I stay and fight instead of quitting
I rage quit for one reason only: team balancing. If it feels like a 1v6, and my team refuses to hop on a cleared point, they seem incapable of killing, and they contribute effectively nothing, i refuse to stay in the lobby. Idk if that’s technically a rage quit when I am literally #1 player in the entire lobby when I dip as I’m not really raging on getting beat or upset on my performance, but quitting because I want to reroll my rng for new teammates.
Literally what I deal with, my team is so ass 9/10 times I play the game I'm not gonna put up with a loss on my record cuz I'm set up to do a 1v6 and the other teams pissed at me.
100 percent this I quit on more lobbied where I’m top of the lobby than those I’m not cause I value playing against better players, it how u learn how to get better. I think for players who only care about KD they are more likely to stay on for those matches cause they don’t value the win. But for those of us that do value objective play it’s the worst clearing entire zones on ur own and dying to the 4th or 5th player just to see ur team no where near to capitalize.
If they somehow implement something where if your team leaves, but you stay. The remaining players should get doubled 'Match Complete' XP. Currently if you complete it you get 4k, but if your team leaves and there's only 2 or 3 members left. Those remaining player should get 8k for staying.
People take video games very seriously nowadays. If I’m playing a match and I can see that my team is worse than the opposing team, I play to practice a new weapon, complete a challenge, and hope to move on to the next match. That’s the beauty of connection based matchmaking (CBMM). You won’t always be the best among the 12 players there.
The problem is the team balancing. I can be the best player in the lobby and still lose because my teamates never touch the obj. At that point is like playing a 1v6 but worse because there is no map control either because they cant hold their own
i only leave when it feels that i need to much ammo to kill someone i mean when i need a full ACR mag to kill someone something is not good at this match
My group has quit many matches. It's only when the desync is so bad, that no one is getting hit markers and (what feels like getting 1 shot insta deaths) type of lobbies. We lose more matches than win, but when it's out of our control, we leave.
I quit when my ENTIRE team is going negative, idc how well I'm doing. I also quit(last night) when there's only 1 dedsec on the other team and I get hit with 3 spiderbots. Every time he got his bot back it came after me. The next match 2 dedsec and I get hit with the bot, died, came back and got hit with the 2nd, I just cut the game off.
Because there is no team balancing. I’m 51 years old and most of the time I’m top at the leaderboard and my teammates have sometimes 4-15 or 8-25 or whatever. There is something wrong with their balancing when a old man is at the top. I quit only when my team is really bad.
That's what these CZcamsrs want. They want to shit on noobs and people who don't play alot because they think getting killed every 2 seconds will make you better
I’ve had many games where I’m left with a team of 3-4 people and we still end up coming back and almost winning the game while at a numbers disadvantage. It’s so frustrating because you know you would’ve won if people didn’t quit at the first sign of losing.
There's also a big issue with player's quitting before the match starts just because they don't like the map. This is because the same 3 to 4 maps get votes. For example if Arena shows up you already know that's what map everyone wants
I remember from the time before strict matching systems that rage quits were endemic in CoD:Ghosts and further back. The strict matching in later titles seems to mitigate that but I will also point out that there are still large amount of quitter lobbies in mw3 and mw2 from what I remember. Stacks, bad network conditions, and cheaters cause me to leave lobbies if I cannot make any headway, a bad lobby is a bad lobby. Ranked cannot be quit. Even if I want to pull my hair out. Because of how eomm hits me I get really big swings all over the skill spectrum. It over corrects because I stomp within my skill range, I'll get isolated as a solo with with cold newish teammates against players in a much higher skill bracket. So with that I get a bit of a cold streak going often in addition to degraded connection - the Activision casino throws me a stomp and then I am back having to play the world championship on small maps 6's with teammates that probably have to look at their controllers the whole time to see the buttons they press. Cod core mp experience for me as a solo is hell on earth as was Destiny 2's Crucible because the matching will sacrifice connection and team balance to achieve whatever is "fair" in Bungie's eyes or "engaging" in Activision's. In Xdefiant I have experienced something in an multiplayer competitive fps I hadn't experienced since Battlefield Bad company 2 on 360 - My growth as a player, it's not obscured by a game's efforts to keep homeostasis within its matching systems. it would seem that in the case of Destiny 2 and CoD that the only way to break that deadlock is to start stacking in groups of four or more then the matching just doesn't seem to affect players in parties as much, but I'm perpetually solo so I need games like Xdefiant to have fair matching based around connection, as it turns out random skill with connection priority plays well - go figure.
As a solo player, there’s nothing casual about this game. With Goldeneye 64 being my 1st Call of Duty, I won’t lie, this game’s experience has been nothing but pure misery. 7/10 matches, I’m back packing our team of 3 (with many of them only getting 5 kills) versus the 6 enemy players. Obviously, it’s a skill issue on my part when 3 people on my team leave so lately, I find myself going back to MW3 zombies to get my shooter fix
My experience has been opposite as a solo player. This is the first mp game I’ve played since before 2019 that isn’t completely unbearable as a solo player. COD is a miserable, I’d argue unplayable, experience as a solo player. Long matchmaking times, terrible in game connection, cheap and/or rigged feeling gun fights have made COD 6v6 (XDefiants only real counterpart) an agonizingly insufferable experience for me as a solo player. I haven’t made it to season 1 in any of the modern CODs because of the terrible player experience so I’ve already made it longer in XDefiant and have had a much better time than I’ve had with any COD since BO4
I will also add that I spoke about this with my husband recently (he never plays FPS and I was raised on them, been playing multiplayer since BO1) we discussed SBMM/EBMM and as a league of legends and StarCraft player he felt these things were necessary. He felt it was unfair. I countered with it’s not ranked play and that if u always play with exact copies of urself u will never learn advanced mechanics or strategies. I showed him a few clips of my gameplay on xdef and showed him some of the movement that best players use and how if I didn’t spend the better half of S0 dying to this movement I would have never had the muscle memory to learn how to track people who change direction as they do in xdef. Usually with that side slide cancel jump in the opposite direction. I explained to him that I would’ve never attempted to learn how to jump shot or drop shot had it not been used against me first in my early FPS days when I was complete ass. I didn’t get discouraged I wanted to be as good as the top guys and girls in the lobby and now I’m consistently top of the lobby which does feel awesome even after years of FPS. My husband was able to get it after I put it that way. It’s not mean to be potentially thrown to the wolves every now and then, it’s how u gain the muscle memory and decision making necessary to begin to win gun fights and games against decent players.
Rage quitting is the reason I unfortunately can't enjoy escort. I really like that game mode, but its too painful playing solo with randoms. As soon as it gets a little tough half the team will back out, and the other half prefer to sit in the back and try to snipe or camp. I tried one round yesterday and 2 teammates had 1 kill and like 15 deaths with zero objective scores and they were hiding and camping instead of pushing the robot forward with me. I got it all the way to 99 and everybody quit and I was left alone after a long painful battle. There was still a round to go, so I just quit too finally.
Man I'm tired of these game experts, man it's the game ,console vs. PC with terrible hit registration is the horrible experience and when your playing good players every second counts it shouldn't take an entire mag. For a kill
I got to be honest here I’ve rage quitted mostly because I take it so seriously that I’m ashamed of my score and it feels like everyone is going to be laughing at me or be annoyed with me I get anxious even when I’m doing good I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I always think of what others think about me I’m constantly judging myself

Everyone has good and bad games even good players not everyone is able to perform 100% every day some days you feel off and some days you feel good it's life
The problem is that there is no motivation to stick to a match. With SBMM you at least know you'll get an easier lobby. Without it all you get is terrible stats and a waste of time. So if they want people to stick to matches the need to hand out free XP-Tokens to people who do terrible at the end of each match. Not everyone has a competitive mindset, some play games to have fun. Mind blowing concept I know! Also your bike analogy kinda blows because XDefiant doesn't just take the training wheels off, it expects you to do backflips on a monocycle while racing a mountain bike rally against racers on motorcycles.
Maybe it is different. I play for fun. While i am in a lobby with jump spammers, quick scopers and the netcode is trash. I will not rage quit, i will simply not waste my time and find another more fun lobby. Calmly, without rage. It is a simple question for me: is this lobby fun? No? Next one. Yes? Let’s go. This way i have fun with the limited time i have to play this game. Ps: they should speed up the loading of the menu. Another huge xdefiant issue.
9/10 the reason I'm quitting/leaving early is because my team is incompetent and think's objective's are simply suggestions, or they can barley get their own kills, the team balancing in this game is awful
There is no point staying when the team is made of window lickers that never touch the obj. Last night i had a game where 4 guys in my team were "sniping" in our spawn. We were playing domination
While I get what youre trying to say I have to respectfully somewhat disagree. There's nothing to be learned from lobbies full of air strafing, bouncing MP7 users and going 3-37 as a new player. Its like being thrown at the final boss when youre level one. Its ok to step away from that. However if the games closer that's where youre seeing the better skill increase. Being able to somewhat compete is better than being crushed into the ground. Tweak settings like sensitivity and try to find your groove. That being said If you're playing ranked then you stick it out no matter what happens. You actively chose competetive.
I only play unranked, and only play solo. There are *2* scenarios in which I will leave a game. #1 is 5-10 seconds before the game ends and I am the highest scoring player on my team according to the leaderboard. No reason to sit through the entire ending screens and MVP and thumbs up phases etc for a bit more player EXP. Player EXP is useless. #2 is if my entire team including me can't even leave the spawn. So far 95% of the time this has happened, it has been on the map Mayday in Domination specifically.
XDefiant seriously needs fixes for team balancing. Most rage quitting cases are in games where one side is stomping the other, look at the stats in your game, at 3:50 it's already visible that your whole team is just stomping those poor things on the other side. Look at K/D of guys in your team on 4:14 - 4, 2, 2, 2, 0.7, 0.7... So no, it's not SBMM, at least not entirely. I think it's mainly because of the broken team balancing. Most of my matches are unbalanced, sometimes I'm in a better team, sometimes in worse but balanced matches are rare and I love those balanced ones the most, I really feel that I matter there, regardless if I win or lose, it's always hot and awesome. This is what I want, not to stomp with my eyes closed (whole team, not one guy) or get stomped regardless of how hard I try (with my whole team by whole enemy team, not by one or two guys).
I know everybody says there’s no skill base matchmaking or EOMM but shortly after season one dropped I just stopped playing. It seemed like the skill level of everybody in the lobby I was in was drastically higher. I went from 45 to 50 and 22 deaths or so. After the update a good game is 21 and 19 and it’s with such consistency. I don’t remember the last time. I had a good game anymore when before this everybody who played with me relied on me to carry them the pattern was just so drastic. I got tiredof every lobby I was in atrociously sweaty like I could still do good, but would have to lock in for every second and for a casual game. I just got tired of it make no mistake. I didn’t go back to Call of Duty. I just don’t have a casual FPS game to play.
I have to admit, I rage quitted last night, only because the other team had 5 echelon's and one cleaners, they where obviously running as a Team together with wall hacks, Basically they had wall hacks all the time even with the latest Nerfs , no matter how good you are and practiced, you cannot defend against that... they need to limit factions per team even on PUB's say max of two per 6 person team...
The old notion that people would rage from cod becasue of kill streak is just no true! People leave becasue they are not having fun. Killstreaks are by product of people joining marches late, I’m pretty sure no one wants to start a match with kill streak in the air that they didn’t allow the team to earn. This has been my biggest thing about call of duty, people love killstreaks. So in XDefiant there’s no killstreaks so the only way to have fun is play the OBJ and get kills, a lot of people are actually not that good. So they will leave. That’s why free abilities is not good for the majority of the player base. Everything needs to be earned and there needs to be more rewards for doing better in a match. If players had to earn abilities and if you were not dying to free abilities then people wouldn’t get upset as quickly to rage quit. 1. Make abilities earned by score just like the ultimate. 2. Add more things to earn while your playing the match(score streaks/more abilities, or perks) 3. Make team balancing more organic and get rid of disbanding lobby’s 4. Have pregame/postgame chat 5.dont have in game party chat when your in a party
ppl are getting put into ongoing matches due to the player count falling. at one stage you couldnt even look at the new thing you have unlocked before the next game starts matchmaking but now you can sort through several things before a match starts. atm im using the svd and sometimes im getting a 1 shot kill to the head but the next player might take 7 shots to get a kill (thats my best so far 7 shots on target and shots 5,6,7 registered) and ppl are getting sick of this. and before ppl start saying its my internet and ping , my ping is about 15-20 ms but in game its about 25 and then i get servers where my ping is 40-60 ms and i wouldnt be surprised if we find out that xd is using a hybrid system like d1 used , this means a player hosts a game and everyone connects to him via a server rather than a server hosting the game which everyone connects to.
or heres a radical idea, instead of penalizing people for leaving, maybe they could just make the matches fill mid game much more quickly and then nobody would ever care that a teammate or someone on the other team quit... realistically with how long it takes to actually find a match it should take no more than 30 seconds for a match to fill after someone leaves mid game... but most times the lobby never refills. and ive yet to see the devs comment on such a thing either... ive heard rumbles of quitting out penalties but thats it. maybe i missed a post somewhere from them on it? i dont know, but i personally havent seen them talk about fixing that.
Yeah it’s an issue. I’ve run into 4-5 man parties while I’m just with my nephew and have won and lost against the same party. When I’m playing alone I only back out of parties and imma be honest if I’m doing everything possible to put my team ahead, clearing zones, etc, just to have my team do nothing to capitalize on that. The last game I backed out of it seemed I was the only one clearing the past 3 zones and my team just couldn’t or wouldn’t get to the zone either to help take or hold. I’m a big objective player so even though I opened that game coming in late and getting a 5 streak and the zone, that doesn’t make me wanna stay just to go for my KD. I hate to lose a perfectly winnable game because of a team that refuses to try. If my team is trying and dying on the zone or on their way to it, that sucks but I won’t back out. I see the effort and I will work with that effort and try to compensate for them if possible for the win. But if there’s no effort that’s the fastest way to make me leave a game. In that last game I watched my team on the mini map literally be in fights no where near the zone for 3 straight zone and still be going negative so I left lol. Idk how everyone feels about that.
Oh I've backed out of plenty of Escort/Zone Control matches. Feels like I was going up a full six stack and they're holding hands wherever they go. I'm not gonna fault them for playing like a team in a team based game, but when your own team has no unit cohesion and have no mic on for communication for whatever reason, it's just bashing your head against the wall the entire game. Then I'll get games like last night in Zone Control where my friend and I are anchoring the rest of the team and letting them play off us where they perform well in turn. Inconsistency is cool and all, but I'm seeing when the Matchmaking pulls your card and puts it in the "get shit on" slot, it's just how this is gonna work.
In unranked, I don't really care if people leave. My issue is in comp people leaving. I played 4 matches in comp for the first time yesterday, and 2 out of the 4 had people leaving. One of the players left after the map pick, and the game just ran with one person down the whole match. Obvious lose and also lost BR even though we never had a full team to start the match. The other match was escort, which probably should not be in comp because people will push. Not like how far they got or if they didn't hold very well and leave before the second half. I ended up being the only one left on my team for the second half and just waited until 2:30 to not lose any BR, wasteing my time and everyone else's. All in all, with a small sample size of 4 games, comp in xDefiant is pretty bad, but I will still give it a few more chances.
I have been running into a LOT of AFK players. Literally loading in consecutive games and not doing anything at all. Now winning is near impossible. You bet your bottom dollar I’m leaving
ok so - here's someone who is actually Rage Quitting! so I speak from my experience and only from my experience. ((sorry for my english)). I don't have time to sit for hours in a game. For me, a game is something that I enter to have fun, to forget about everyday problems. Maybe I have 45 minutes or an hour to play. Only sometimes I would like to win and not be last in the team. In your story with learning to ride a bike, the important thing is that you had neighbors and parents to teach you to ride bikes. I'm solo. I'm learning to play solo. And that hour in game with players like you who know what flick is, centering, who know maps by heart is agony to play. If after two minutes of play I have 5 kills and 25 deaths, I will give up, I will try again, but if I don't see progress after a couple of days, I will give up. I don't want to be a PRO but I just don't want to be a loser ALL THE TIME! and no i will never learn to play if i die on average every 8 seconds. How coul'd I? It was more fun to me in first 25 levels. I was a solid player. so I would like the treinig wheels back, thanks LOL
As a solo player I back out of many games that consist of sweaty teams communicating. It has nothing to do with me “lacking skills”. If I’m holding my own and positive but 4 players are negative +10 and we’re down 30+ kills why would I stay? Not a single reason.
Yall not gonna like this but this is why sbmm is good in some ways. Ive done this myself, having no sbmm means that if you get a sweat who is dominating too hard on the other team all you have to do is quit and roll the dice again to get a better lobby but with sbmm quitting whont do shit because you will still get the sweats no matter what
Two things in this game will make me rage-quit. People abusing jump spamming - the nerf was nowhere near enough to stop that nonsense. It looks ridiculous and it changing a hitbox makes zero sense. And people abusing sniper rifles. Snipers are still grossly OP. If you have a one hit weapon like a sniper rifle and i get shots on them first, remove 3/4 of their health with continuous hit markers, and yet, somehow, they snipe me through that, then that's in no way balanced. If the intention of the game designers was 'Snipers should win every single gun-fight so long as the sniper can see you and has half decent aim' then they should state as much and rhen i can go find another game to play. The sniper flinch nerf and sprint to aim nerfs haven't done nearly enough to balance those rifles. Other than that, sure hit reg is flaky at times, skills not firing when you want them to - but i know those issues are constantly being worked on, and will eventually be a non-issue, hopefully.
Take an MDR to the range and check the recoil pattern... It changes. Only gun I've tested and it changed. Wonder what's up with that. I've had it go top left, straight up, and top right. No I don't have stick drift.
Does anyone notice that the gun range TTK stats, don't seem to actually do the same thing in game? Throw on a rapid fire barrel and muzzle booster and it's good in game, however at the gun range it says the heavy barrel has faster TTK... like it doesn't make sense.
I kinda disagree with your analogy with the training wheels. I don't think it is similar enough to compare it like that to whether there should be some kind of skill based matchmaking system. For some that might be fine but for others it might ruin the experience that they keep losing, losing and losing and end up quitting because it's just not fun. I've played a good amount of Rocket League. At my peak I was probably around the top 0,3% in the game. Far from a pro but a really good casual level. I could beat teams 1v3 if I played against players who were around top 40%. Those players wouldn't have fun playing against me. The skill gap was just too big and I could do basically whatever I felt like because I was much better and they would have issues just touching the ball. Playing against better players can help you. But playing against players that are too much better than you doesn't help you. You can also add that for a great player then playing against bad players is not good for your improvement in competetive. Because playing bad players can create habits that works against bad players that doesn't work against good players.
I don't care if people quit in pubs but in rank it matters there should be a disconnect percentage added to their record. Also, I think people quit not because of rage quiting but to project higher stats. I have seen people die 3 times in a row in the beginning and leave. People are trying to have the high k/d and the high win pct
I rage quit when the net code screws me in shot around corners stuff like that. I play the game to have fun not for everybody else plan to have fun so for me to stay and be a punching bag for you to have fun piss off.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I only quit out when I lay 3 rounds from my mk20 directly into someone with hit markers and then die to them and see them having taken zero damage. I assume the server is screwed on my end and I leave. Sorry if I can't play I'm out I'll find another lobby.

For the bike analogy to work you have to compare sbmm to being a race where people who need training wheels are put up against other people who need training wheels. If you take away sbmm or ebmm then you have people popping wheelies against people who can barely strap their elbow protectors on. I dont know why people are so quick to turn against ENGAGEMENT based match making. Dont we all want to be engaged? Why would someone who just wants a basic and easy fps experience be thrusted into the world of meta-slaves and try hards?

I’m one of these people I play this game to not sweat like my life is depending on it. If the other team is playing like that then I’m out. Or if the match is too boring I can’t tell you how many times I’ll play and the whole team is hiding with snipers except for the one CDL try hard that’s 55 and 2 on tdm
I ended up 1v6ing the last 5 minutes of a tdm match last night cause all my teammates left. I wasn't going to win but to be honest, probably would of held my own a lot better if there was constantly 3 spiderbots chasing me down lmao. Dam spiders were leading the enemies right to be soon as i spawned. Then i had to either shoot the spider or the players. Ended up going 25/25 k/d so i guess it could of been a lot worse lol. But yeas its ridiculous.
Yeah, COD coddled bad players for too long with sbmm and eomm, so now when a bad player doesn't get their way, they can't handle it. That being said, I struggle with mag-dumping on someone with hit markers and they don't die, but get annihilated so fast, I didn't have a chance to turn around. Net code needs a lot more work. I stopped playing COD and only play Xdefiant now, because it's more fun.
I hold my hands up , i rage quit far too frequently. Im actually a really good player dropping 50+ kills in zone control ( mode im addicted too lol) . But if my team is trash not playing obj , sitting in a corner watching the enemy team capture or if it feels like im olaying agaisnt a partied up team i will leave . A simple solution to this is a simple party icon !!! I want to know if im up against a six stack. Other than that i enjoy the game . 😂
I am near the point that I want to stop playing the game because of the netcode and sniper meta which really makes it unfun to play. How the hell do you get better against an enemy that will 90% of the time kill you in 1 shot and you need 5 or 6 to kill them. It is not something you can learn to get better at countering because it has no good counter.

Stop putting me on teams who only know how to play TDM. *HEAVILY* incentivize obj play already. This game is terrible to play when you're the only one trying to escort the bot or occupy the obj. Not fun at all

They are leaving because this game does not play the same for everyone. regions constantly changing high ping bad hit reg. for those without any of these problems I bet the game is fun but for a lot of people it's not. In that game you said everything just felt right. On the other side I bet everything just felt off.

I rage quit for one reason only: team balancing. If it feels like a 1v6, and my team refuses to hop on a cleared point, they seem incapable of killing, and they contribute effectively nothing, i refuse to stay in the lobby. Idk if that’s technically a rage quit when I am literally #1 player in the entire lobby when I dip as I’m not really raging on getting beat or upset on my performance, but quitting because I want to reroll my rng for new teammates.

Literally what I deal with, my team is so ass 9/10 times I play the game I'm not gonna put up with a loss on my record cuz I'm set up to do a 1v6 and the other teams pissed at me.
100 percent this I quit on more lobbied where I’m top of the lobby than those I’m not cause I value playing against better players, it how u learn how to get better. I think for players who only care about KD they are more likely to stay on for those matches cause they don’t value the win. But for those of us that do value objective play it’s the worst clearing entire zones on ur own and dying to the 4th or 5th player just to see ur team no where near to capitalize.
I stop having fun in a game, I leave. Simple as.

If they somehow implement something where if your team leaves, but you stay. The remaining players should get doubled 'Match Complete' XP. Currently if you complete it you get 4k, but if your team leaves and there's only 2 or 3 members left. Those remaining player should get 8k for staying.

I almost never quit mid-match. Generally, if I'm gunna drop out, it's in the lobby before the game starts.
People take video games very seriously nowadays. If I’m playing a match and I can see that my team is worse than the opposing team, I play to practice a new weapon, complete a challenge, and hope to move on to the next match. That’s the beauty of connection based matchmaking (CBMM). You won’t always be the best among the 12 players there.

My group has quit many matches. It's only when the desync is so bad, that no one is getting hit markers and (what feels like getting 1 shot insta deaths) type of lobbies. We lose more matches than win, but when it's out of our control, we leave.

Enemy team full of snipers makes me quit...
I quit when my ENTIRE team is going negative, idc how well I'm doing. I also quit(last night) when there's only 1 dedsec on the other team and I get hit with 3 spiderbots. Every time he got his bot back it came after me. The next match 2 dedsec and I get hit with the bot, died, came back and got hit with the 2nd, I just cut the game off.
Because there is no team balancing. I’m 51 years old and most of the time I’m top at the leaderboard and my teammates have sometimes 4-15 or 8-25 or whatever. There is something wrong with their balancing when a old man is at the top. I quit only when my team is really bad.
That's what these CZcamsrs want. They want to shit on noobs and people who don't play alot because they think getting killed every 2 seconds will make you better

I’ve had many games where I’m left with a team of 3-4 people and we still end up coming back and almost winning the game while at a numbers disadvantage.
It’s so frustrating because you know you would’ve won if people didn’t quit at the first sign of losing.
There's also a big issue with player's quitting before the match starts just because they don't like the map. This is because the same 3 to 4 maps get votes. For example if Arena shows up you already know that's what map everyone wants
I remember from the time before strict matching systems that rage quits were endemic in CoD:Ghosts and further back.
The strict matching in later titles seems to mitigate that but I will also point out that there are still large amount of quitter lobbies in mw3 and mw2 from what I remember.
Stacks, bad network conditions, and cheaters cause me to leave lobbies if I cannot make any headway, a bad lobby is a bad lobby.
Ranked cannot be quit. Even if I want to pull my hair out.
Because of how eomm hits me I get really big swings all over the skill spectrum. It over corrects because I stomp within my skill range, I'll get isolated as a solo with with cold newish teammates against players in a much higher skill bracket. So with that I get a bit of a cold streak going often in addition to degraded connection - the Activision casino throws me a stomp and then I am back having to play the world championship on small maps 6's with teammates that probably have to look at their controllers the whole time to see the buttons they press.
Cod core mp experience for me as a solo is hell on earth as was Destiny 2's Crucible because the matching will sacrifice connection and team balance to achieve whatever is "fair" in Bungie's eyes or "engaging" in Activision's.
In Xdefiant I have experienced something in an multiplayer competitive fps I hadn't experienced since Battlefield Bad company 2 on 360 - My growth as a player, it's not obscured by a game's efforts to keep homeostasis within its matching systems.
it would seem that in the case of Destiny 2 and CoD that the only way to break that deadlock is to start stacking in groups of four or more then the matching just doesn't seem to affect players in parties as much, but I'm perpetually solo so I need games like Xdefiant to have fair matching based around connection, as it turns out random skill with connection priority plays well - go figure.

As a solo player, there’s nothing casual about this game. With Goldeneye 64 being my 1st Call of Duty, I won’t lie, this game’s experience has been nothing but pure misery. 7/10 matches, I’m back packing our team of 3 (with many of them only getting 5 kills) versus the 6 enemy players. Obviously, it’s a skill issue on my part when 3 people on my team leave so lately, I find myself going back to MW3 zombies to get my shooter fix
My experience has been opposite as a solo player. This is the first mp game I’ve played since before 2019 that isn’t completely unbearable as a solo player. COD is a miserable, I’d argue unplayable, experience as a solo player. Long matchmaking times, terrible in game connection, cheap and/or rigged feeling gun fights have made COD 6v6 (XDefiants only real counterpart) an agonizingly insufferable experience for me as a solo player. I haven’t made it to season 1 in any of the modern CODs because of the terrible player experience so I’ve already made it longer in XDefiant and have had a much better time than I’ve had with any COD since BO4
I will also add that I spoke about this with my husband recently (he never plays FPS and I was raised on them, been playing multiplayer since BO1) we discussed SBMM/EBMM and as a league of legends and StarCraft player he felt these things were necessary. He felt it was unfair. I countered with it’s not ranked play and that if u always play with exact copies of urself u will never learn advanced mechanics or strategies. I showed him a few clips of my gameplay on xdef and showed him some of the movement that best players use and how if I didn’t spend the better half of S0 dying to this movement I would have never had the muscle memory to learn how to track people who change direction as they do in xdef. Usually with that side slide cancel jump in the opposite direction. I explained to him that I would’ve never attempted to learn how to jump shot or drop shot had it not been used against me first in my early FPS days when I was complete ass. I didn’t get discouraged I wanted to be as good as the top guys and girls in the lobby and now I’m consistently top of the lobby which does feel awesome even after years of FPS. My husband was able to get it after I put it that way. It’s not mean to be potentially thrown to the wolves every now and then, it’s how u gain the muscle memory and decision making necessary to begin to win gun fights and games against decent players.
Rage quitting is the reason I unfortunately can't enjoy escort. I really like that game mode, but its too painful playing solo with randoms. As soon as it gets a little tough half the team will back out, and the other half prefer to sit in the back and try to snipe or camp. I tried one round yesterday and 2 teammates had 1 kill and like 15 deaths with zero objective scores and they were hiding and camping instead of pushing the robot forward with me. I got it all the way to 99 and everybody quit and I was left alone after a long painful battle. There was still a round to go, so I just quit too finally.
Man I'm tired of these game experts, man it's the game ,console vs. PC with terrible hit registration is the horrible experience and when your playing good players every second counts it shouldn't take an entire mag. For a kill

The problem is that there is no motivation to stick to a match. With SBMM you at least know you'll get an easier lobby. Without it all you get is terrible stats and a waste of time. So if they want people to stick to matches the need to hand out free XP-Tokens to people who do terrible at the end of each match. Not everyone has a competitive mindset, some play games to have fun. Mind blowing concept I know! Also your bike analogy kinda blows because XDefiant doesn't just take the training wheels off, it expects you to do backflips on a monocycle while racing a mountain bike rally against racers on motorcycles.
Maybe it is different. I play for fun. While i am in a lobby with jump spammers, quick scopers and the netcode is trash. I will not rage quit, i will simply not waste my time and find another more fun lobby. Calmly, without rage. It is a simple question for me: is this lobby fun? No? Next one. Yes? Let’s go.
This way i have fun with the limited time i have to play this game.

While I get what youre trying to say I have to respectfully somewhat disagree. There's nothing to be learned from lobbies full of air strafing, bouncing MP7 users and going 3-37 as a new player. Its like being thrown at the final boss when youre level one. Its ok to step away from that.
However if the games closer that's where youre seeing the better skill increase. Being able to somewhat compete is better than being crushed into the ground. Tweak settings like sensitivity and try to find your groove.
That being said If you're playing ranked then you stick it out no matter what happens. You actively chose competetive.
I only play unranked, and only play solo. There are *2* scenarios in which I will leave a game.
#1 is 5-10 seconds before the game ends and I am the highest scoring player on my team according to the leaderboard. No reason to sit through the entire ending screens and MVP and thumbs up phases etc for a bit more player EXP. Player EXP is useless.
#2 is if my entire team including me can't even leave the spawn. So far 95% of the time this has happened, it has been on the map Mayday in Domination specifically.
XDefiant seriously needs fixes for team balancing. Most rage quitting cases are in games where one side is stomping the other, look at the stats in your game, at 3:50 it's already visible that your whole team is just stomping those poor things on the other side. Look at K/D of guys in your team on 4:14 - 4, 2, 2, 2, 0.7, 0.7...
So no, it's not SBMM, at least not entirely. I think it's mainly because of the broken team balancing. Most of my matches are unbalanced, sometimes I'm in a better team, sometimes in worse but balanced matches are rare and I love those balanced ones the most, I really feel that I matter there, regardless if I win or lose, it's always hot and awesome. This is what I want, not to stomp with my eyes closed (whole team, not one guy) or get stomped regardless of how hard I try (with my whole team by whole enemy team, not by one or two guys).
I know everybody says there’s no skill base matchmaking or EOMM but shortly after season one dropped I just stopped playing. It seemed like the skill level of everybody in the lobby I was in was drastically higher. I went from 45 to 50 and 22 deaths or so. After the update a good game is 21 and 19 and it’s with such consistency. I don’t remember the last time. I had a good game anymore when before this everybody who played with me relied on me to carry them the pattern was just so drastic. I got tiredof every lobby I was in atrociously sweaty like I could still do good, but would have to lock in for every second and for a casual game. I just got tired of it make no mistake. I didn’t go back to Call of Duty. I just don’t have a casual FPS game to play.

I have to admit, I rage quitted last night, only because the other team had 5 echelon's and one cleaners, they where obviously running as a Team together with wall hacks, Basically they had wall hacks all the time even with the latest Nerfs , no matter how good you are and practiced, you cannot defend against that... they need to limit factions per team even on PUB's say max of two per 6 person team...

The old notion that people would rage from cod becasue of kill streak is just no true! People leave becasue they are not having fun. Killstreaks are by product of people joining marches late, I’m pretty sure no one wants to start a match with kill streak in the air that they didn’t allow the team to earn.
This has been my biggest thing about call of duty, people love killstreaks. So in XDefiant there’s no killstreaks so the only way to have fun is play the OBJ and get kills, a lot of people are actually not that good. So they will leave. That’s why free abilities is not good for the majority of the player base. Everything needs to be earned and there needs to be more rewards for doing better in a match. If players had to earn abilities and if you were not dying to free abilities then people wouldn’t get upset as quickly to rage quit.
1. Make abilities earned by score just like the ultimate.
2. Add more things to earn while your playing the match(score streaks/more abilities, or perks)
3. Make team balancing more organic and get rid of disbanding lobby’s
4. Have pregame/postgame chat
5.dont have in game party chat when your in a party
ppl are getting put into ongoing matches due to the player count falling.
at one stage you couldnt even look at the new thing you have unlocked before the next game starts matchmaking but now you can sort through several things before a match starts.
atm im using the svd and sometimes im getting a 1 shot kill to the head but the next player might take 7 shots to get a kill (thats my best so far 7 shots on target and shots 5,6,7 registered) and ppl are getting sick of this.
and before ppl start saying its my internet and ping , my ping is about 15-20 ms but in game its about 25 and then i get servers where my ping is 40-60 ms and i wouldnt be surprised if we find out that xd is using a hybrid system like d1 used , this means a player hosts a game and everyone connects to him via a server rather than a server hosting the game which everyone connects to.
or heres a radical idea, instead of penalizing people for leaving, maybe they could just make the matches fill mid game much more quickly and then nobody would ever care that a teammate or someone on the other team quit... realistically with how long it takes to actually find a match it should take no more than 30 seconds for a match to fill after someone leaves mid game... but most times the lobby never refills. and ive yet to see the devs comment on such a thing either... ive heard rumbles of quitting out penalties but thats it. maybe i missed a post somewhere from them on it? i dont know, but i personally havent seen them talk about fixing that.
Yeah it’s an issue. I’ve run into 4-5 man parties while I’m just with my nephew and have won and lost against the same party. When I’m playing alone I only back out of parties and imma be honest if I’m doing everything possible to put my team ahead, clearing zones, etc, just to have my team do nothing to capitalize on that. The last game I backed out of it seemed I was the only one clearing the past 3 zones and my team just couldn’t or wouldn’t get to the zone either to help take or hold. I’m a big objective player so even though I opened that game coming in late and getting a 5 streak and the zone, that doesn’t make me wanna stay just to go for my KD. I hate to lose a perfectly winnable game because of a team that refuses to try. If my team is trying and dying on the zone or on their way to it, that sucks but I won’t back out. I see the effort and I will work with that effort and try to compensate for them if possible for the win. But if there’s no effort that’s the fastest way to make me leave a game. In that last game I watched my team on the mini map literally be in fights no where near the zone for 3 straight zone and still be going negative so I left lol. Idk how everyone feels about that.
Oh I've backed out of plenty of Escort/Zone Control matches. Feels like I was going up a full six stack and they're holding hands wherever they go. I'm not gonna fault them for playing like a team in a team based game, but when your own team has no unit cohesion and have no mic on for communication for whatever reason, it's just bashing your head against the wall the entire game.
Then I'll get games like last night in Zone Control where my friend and I are anchoring the rest of the team and letting them play off us where they perform well in turn.
Inconsistency is cool and all, but I'm seeing when the Matchmaking pulls your card and puts it in the "get shit on" slot, it's just how this is gonna work.
In unranked, I don't really care if people leave. My issue is in comp people leaving. I played 4 matches in comp for the first time yesterday, and 2 out of the 4 had people leaving. One of the players left after the map pick, and the game just ran with one person down the whole match. Obvious lose and also lost BR even though we never had a full team to start the match. The other match was escort, which probably should not be in comp because people will push. Not like how far they got or if they didn't hold very well and leave before the second half. I ended up being the only one left on my team for the second half and just waited until 2:30 to not lose any BR, wasteing my time and everyone else's. All in all, with a small sample size of 4 games, comp in xDefiant is pretty bad, but I will still give it a few more chances.

ok so - here's someone who is actually Rage Quitting! so I speak from my experience and only from my experience. ((sorry for my english)). I don't have time to sit for hours in a game. For me, a game is something that I enter to have fun, to forget about everyday problems. Maybe I have 45 minutes or an hour to play. Only sometimes I would like to win and not be last in the team. In your story with learning to ride a bike, the important thing is that you had neighbors and parents to teach you to ride bikes. I'm solo. I'm learning to play solo. And that hour in game with players like you who know what flick is, centering, who know maps by heart is agony to play. If after two minutes of play I have 5 kills and 25 deaths, I will give up, I will try again, but if I don't see progress after a couple of days, I will give up. I don't want to be a PRO but I just don't want to be a loser ALL THE TIME!
and no i will never learn to play if i die on average every 8 seconds. How coul'd I? It was more fun to me in first 25 levels. I was a solid player. so I would like the treinig wheels back, thanks LOL

As a solo player I back out of many games that consist of sweaty teams communicating. It has nothing to do with me “lacking skills”. If I’m holding my own and positive but 4 players are negative +10 and we’re down 30+ kills why would I stay? Not a single reason.
Yall not gonna like this but this is why sbmm is good in some ways. Ive done this myself, having no sbmm means that if you get a sweat who is dominating too hard on the other team all you have to do is quit and roll the dice again to get a better lobby but with sbmm quitting whont do shit because you will still get the sweats no matter what
Two things in this game will make me rage-quit. People abusing jump spamming - the nerf was nowhere near enough to stop that nonsense. It looks ridiculous and it changing a hitbox makes zero sense.
And people abusing sniper rifles. Snipers are still grossly OP. If you have a one hit weapon like a sniper rifle and i get shots on them first, remove 3/4 of their health with continuous hit markers, and yet, somehow, they snipe me through that, then that's in no way balanced. If the intention of the game designers was 'Snipers should win every single gun-fight so long as the sniper can see you and has half decent aim' then they should state as much and rhen i can go find another game to play. The sniper flinch nerf and sprint to aim nerfs haven't done nearly enough to balance those rifles.
Other than that, sure hit reg is flaky at times, skills not firing when you want them to - but i know those issues are constantly being worked on, and will eventually be a non-issue, hopefully.

Does anyone notice that the gun range TTK stats, don't seem to actually do the same thing in game? Throw on a rapid fire barrel and muzzle booster and it's good in game, however at the gun range it says the heavy barrel has faster TTK... like it doesn't make sense.

I kinda disagree with your analogy with the training wheels. I don't think it is similar enough to compare it like that to whether there should be some kind of skill based matchmaking system.
For some that might be fine but for others it might ruin the experience that they keep losing, losing and losing and end up quitting because it's just not fun.
I've played a good amount of Rocket League. At my peak I was probably around the top 0,3% in the game. Far from a pro but a really good casual level. I could beat teams 1v3 if I played against players who were around top 40%. Those players wouldn't have fun playing against me. The skill gap was just too big and I could do basically whatever I felt like because I was much better and they would have issues just touching the ball.
Playing against better players can help you. But playing against players that are too much better than you doesn't help you.
You can also add that for a great player then playing against bad players is not good for your improvement in competetive. Because playing bad players can create habits that works against bad players that doesn't work against good players.
I don't care if people quit in pubs but in rank it matters there should be a disconnect percentage added to their record. Also, I think people quit not because of rage quiting but to project higher stats. I have seen people die 3 times in a row in the beginning and leave. People are trying to have the high k/d and the high win pct

I only quit out when I lay 3 rounds from my mk20 directly into someone with hit markers and then die to them and see them having taken zero damage. I assume the server is screwed on my end and I leave. Sorry if I can't play I'm out I'll find another lobby.

For the bike analogy to work you have to compare sbmm to being a race where people who need training wheels are put up against other people who need training wheels. If you take away sbmm or ebmm then you have people popping wheelies against people who can barely strap their elbow protectors on. I’m one of these people I play this game to not sweat like my life is depending on it. If the other team is playing like that then I’m out. Or if the match is too boring I can’t tell you how many times I’ll play and the whole team is hiding with snipers except for the one CDL try hard that’s 55 and 2 on tdm
Apart from joining half way through a game on the losing side I had a few games yesterday where it ended up 6 of us against 2!
I ended up 1v6ing the last 5 minutes of a tdm match last night cause all my teammates left. I wasn't going to win but to be honest, probably would of held my own a lot better if there was constantly 3 spiderbots chasing me down lmao. Dam spiders were leading the enemies right to be soon as i spawned. Then i had to either shoot the spider or the players. Ended up going 25/25 k/d so i guess it could of been a lot worse lol.
But yeas its ridiculous.

Yeah, COD coddled bad players for too long with sbmm and eomm, so now when a bad player doesn't get their way, they can't handle it. That being said, I struggle with mag-dumping on someone with hit markers and they don't die, but get annihilated so fast, I didn't have a chance to turn around. Net code needs a lot more work. I stopped playing COD and only play Xdefiant now, because it's more fun.
I won't rage quit either though I have come close. I will camp power positions and be less aggressive if I face a cheater or multiple bunny hoppers.
I hold my hands up , i rage quit far too frequently.
Im actually a really good player dropping 50+ kills in zone control ( mode im addicted too lol) .
But if my team is trash not playing obj , sitting in a corner watching the enemy team capture or if it feels like im olaying agaisnt a partied up team i will leave .
A simple solution to this is a simple party icon !!! I want to know if im up against a six stack.
Other than that i enjoy the game . 😂

I am near the point that I want to stop playing the game because of the netcode and sniper meta which really makes it unfun to play.
How the hell do you get better against an enemy that will 90% of the time kill you in 1 shot and you need 5 or 6 to kill them. It is not something you can learn to get better at countering because it has no good counter.
They gotta get rid of the spammm jumpin so fukn annoying.. we need a hardcore mode so we can deal with them cuz they would have less health...
Bunny hopping got worse when they changed it. It should be 2 jumps then the sway kicks in.

I rage quit because i refused to be on some joe-shmoes screenshot of them and their team doing phenomenal because i get fodder for teammates in a 1v6 with them DESPERATELY fighting me tooth and nail. Nah work for that win in a fair match.

*HEAVILY* incentivize obj play already. This game is terrible to play when you're the only one trying to escort the bot or occupy the obj. Not fun at all
The game is broken. They are leaving because this game does not play the same for everyone. regions constantly changing high ping bad hit reg. for those without any of these problems I bet the game is fun but for a lot of people it's not. In that game you said everything just felt right. On the other side I bet everything just felt off.
I don't quit alot of games but i will leave if i am the only one who is trying to do anything .... and my team mates are 4-25 no excuse for people to be playing like that at all why sit in the game with pos team mates im out bruh
