Ohh, the joys of the Canterbury commute! I was that man until 2004; now live just outside Lille and my season ticket to St Pancras is still €220 less than from Canterbury.... Thank you for yet another high quality selection from the past, all your videos make for excellent viewing again and again.
It seems insane to me that you saved so much in rail fares by moving to another country. That fact alone proves the failure of privatisation. Also, thanks very much for the great feedback.
Oh god those trains. Once I was stupid enough to open the door before the train had fully stopped and fell flat on my face. Very embarrassing. Never again. Luckily only my pride was hurt. Pride comes before a fall as they say !

Thank you for this J C E. I'm from Canterbury, very interesting. 👍🇬🇧👋
damn i go to canterbury west every day to go to uni, its amazing how I can still recognise it well even after all those years in this video. Amazing
I was working in the Canterbury east ticket office that day👍
HAP 4311 is now preserved, it’s just been moved to Peak Rail following the ERM closure in Coventry
Very Unusual to have a 2HAP by 92 as most were reformed into 4CAP units by 1988, also the CIG is an unusual sight back in 92 in kent :)

cool video, do you have any footage from South Devon?
I'm sorry but Exeter is as far west as I ventured with my video camera.
What a dump it still is today....
