  • The exquisite "Dream Scene" from Balanchine's full-length DON QUIXOTE. Suzanne Farrell was only 19 years-old here, but she dances like a dream indeed. She is excellently partnered by Conrad Ludlow, and the two female soloists in order of appearance are Mimi Paul and Marnee Morris. The male soloist is Anthony Blum. This whole ballet was not a particular success (mostly because of the score) however this scene stands the test of time. Pure Balanchine technique and style on display by dancers he trained and loved.

Ottima la scelta del chiaroscurale che conferisce al tutto una profondità immaginifica.Ottima la ricerca coordinata dei cenni figurali delle positure del corollario danzante. MOLTO BRAVI TUTTI. BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO

Really pretty. I've always heard Conrad Ludlow was a great partner. It's only recently that I've noticed how comfortable his partners look. Also, pay attention to the moment he lifts the ballerina up and the moment he puts her down; that's finesse.

Thank you for reminding me why I was dedicated to Mr. Balanchine’s vision. Even as a student at SAB, I felt privileged beyond understanding why. How incredibly blessed we were, any of us, no matter how long or shortly, to have been in his orbit.

Thank you so much for this archive you've created! I read Farrell's book when I was 10 and I was so sad that I would never get to see her dance or see many of

Thank you for this. I had already seen your footage of Farrell & Balanchine in the scene that follows, This is sublime! What is the truth about the performance history of this ballet at NYCB. I've read that it was never performed at NYCB after Balanchine's death.

I have a question, I'm trained in the Vaganova Method, and I'd like to expand to the Balanchine Method. What Videos or Channels would you recommend.

John, this video is unlisted, is that on purpose? It makes finding it impossible through the search function.
