that unit is simply a rebadged machine that you can get at Harbor Freight for half the price I have the Harbor Freight unit and it's identical in every way except the basket is different but it only cost half as much as the Lyman unit does and they do work very well I use mine to clean pistol brass for reloading

I notice on all of these videos the gun parts are stainless. Will a normal carbon steel gun thats blued or coated perhaps rust in this solution when left out to dry?

What does this due to factory finishes? Can I use it on Glock parts, slide, frame, etc?
How about AR parts? I would love to get one of these but I'm concerned.

Chris Denton You can use this on all gun parts. Accessories should generally be taken off prior to ultrasonic cleaning. If i were you I would check out www.guncleaners.com and ask them about their home use cleaning units. They are the professionals and this lyman tank is too small, inadequate power, cheap internal components and you can easily ruin your parts due to its design and functionality. Your not supposed to let guns rest on the bare bottom of the tank for numerous reasons. For one gun parts should be standing upright to allow best cleaning, parts should be 1 - 1.5 inches above the bottom of the tank to allow ultrasonics to flow up through. The heater will take forever to heat up and this tank is impractical when it comes to conveniently cleaning larger guns and or other household items.

exactly,it would be much more useful to the buyer if the video was live and demonstrated actual dirty gun parts from shooting and not clean ones or "artificially" made dirty !
