There's actual comedy in DBZ and Super. Just not nearly as much because they're not meant to be a comedy like Dragon Ball was.
Goku doesn’t actually believe his father is in the dragon ball. He just uses it as a way to remember him. So he talks to it. He knows his grandpa is dead.
Goku's frown run at 13:40 is adorable and funny.

I like these early episodes of Dragonball. Ah, the good old days when there was not much censorship on TV. ^_^ The ending plot line is loosely based on the Japanese folktale of Urashimataro (Japanese version of Rip Van Winkle). Urashimataro finds and rescues a turtle who takes him to the underwater palace of Ryugu-jo and meets Princess Otohime. He thinks he only spends a few days there but when he returns to his home village, he learns a hundred years have passed by. Otohime had given him a jeweled box (called Tamatebako) that she forbade him to open… but he does so anyway and it instantly turns him into an old man.
I love that they use Japanese folklore in the stories!

Man that would Goku wear blue and the animation is beautiful I do miss the class of Dragonball series when it wasn't always just fight scenes and muscular men
Not sure if you heard it, but Goku told Bulma That he wasn’t sure if all guys had tails because his grandpa didn’t have one. That reassured her that Goku is in fact abnormal for having a tail.

in this episode goku said hes 14 and she says shes 2 years younger so..... btw in the japanese verison not sure in english he also says when shes on the bed that grandpa let him sleep on him thats why he was weird when he found about her private area
Bulma always lies about her age though as well.lol I'm guessing she's most likely a teenager and looking online says she was around 16.
Honestly I I'm a little bit of Goku personality-wise I to eat a lot and I have a little bit of social differences like doesn't mind sleeping in a room with a girl
I really do miss the classic Dragon Ball Akira now it is just boring fight scenes and that's it but back then they were characters humor comedy and a little bit of fanservice
